Do you ever get caught up playing a minigame and ignore the main game for a while?

Usually happens to me while playing RPGs, or any game with monster breeding in it. Yeah, I know Kuja is going to destroy the world any day now but I want to get a gold chocobo first. FF9 What mad scientist who talks to ghost is up to no good? Just a minute, I want to trade chops first.
Hell, spent more time mixing up stuff in Mana Khemia than anything else. What about you?

I spent more time playing blitzball in FFX then I ever did on the main story line, it was really addictive.

I was playing Fable 2 over at a friends house while he was asleep, and did the Blacksmith mini game for about 2 hours. Don't ask why, but I did. Then I bought a ton of property. He woke up and was like WTF!? I'm making so much money!

Same but it was far too expensive.
They should have gave you a budget instead of having to use Tidus's gil.
Yeah money was an issue at times especially when you've forgotten when the contract for one of your best players is up, and they then get signed up by another team.

Aside from Blitzball (I wasted so much time on that I got Wakka's ultimate weapon by accident), I've got a pretty weird one.

For reasons I won't go into, I had one of the Harry Potter games on the DS, and there was a surprisingly addictive physics-based multiplayer Gobstones minigame that I and a friend spent literally hours on, whilst I never touched the main game itself.

I once got caught by a card mini-game in Might & Magic VII, it was good casual fun. That's pretty much the only time it has happended, I generally ignore minigames.

I remember that Fortress Eagle Defense game in Final Fantasy 7. That's the first time I actually had fun in that game. XD

Seriously, by late in the game I was a rich guy, and I was stacking defenses like crazy until I reached the limit. They never stood a chance.

Yes. Those jobs in Fable 2 kept me busy for the longest time. I just could not get enough of them.

I stuck around the Hundred Acre Wood in Kingdom Hearts longer than normal, if that counts. It was like a nice internal vacation, really...

Also, the casino and fighting arena in God Hand. Not sure if the second one counts, though, sinec that simply takes a lot of time to begin with.

Yeah I've been going crazy playing ODST firefight for a few weeks now, I only just recently played through the single player again. This is the same case with Gears of War 2.
