Do you fear death? It's a question that has been asked many times. I myself am more worried about what happens afterwards. The idea of endlessly being in the dark void of nothingness, for all eternity makes me feel unnerved. I know I'll be dead, but still..
Except for the fact that, if such is eventually the outcome, you won't have a conscienceness to perceive such "emptiness". It would be the same as before you ever came into existence. You weren't anything.

OT: I do not fear death, no. Perhaps the uncertainty of it, to some extent. Otherwise, only the pain of dying, knowing that at that point, your life as you know it is coming to an end - anything else you wanted to do is forever denied to you. And, no less, I like the sensation of breathing..

I'm surprisingly not scared. The thing I really worry about is who will take care of my animals? Isn't it a shame I won't see my family's face when they go through my room and find my collection of kinky things? Will any of the girls I went out with show up to my funeral, and once again, will my family be surprised considering that to them I'm dating, and have been dating, the same guy for 5 years?
I'm more interested in the effect my death would have on the living. I'm vaguely Buddhist, so I kinda believe in reincarnation.

no i do not. ever since i was a little kid, my dad always told me, "dont be afraid, dont be sad. its something everyone has to do. i may not be here tomorrow so i enjoy everyday with you to the fullest extent. and when i do go, dont worry about it. it happens to all of us." i plan on passing that off to my own kids. i am not afraid of it because i know that it is something that will eventually happen no matter what. what i AM afraid of, though, is dying alone.

No. For I shall be in the same state upon my death as I was millions of years before my conception, nonexistent. Never had I suffered whilst in this form.

Yeah I would hate dying. Not sure how I feel about the whole immortality thing either though.

I don't fear death nearly as much as I fear what I'll miss out on in life.

However, I do fear HOW I'll die. Being killed naturally, or in an accident (although it would still suck) doesn't really scare me as much of the thought of having my life TAKEN from me. For example, being killed by some two bit selfish prick on the streets who only knows power at the end of a gun. The idea of it is detestable, and I'd hate to go like that.

I think the "do you fear death" question in itself is difficult to answer truthfully though, cause you have to think about if you see it coming. Day to day, death doesn't really scare me. It's not on my mind, and I accept it as a natural and necessary part of our existence. However, if I was staring it in the face, the thought of losing my life would be frightening.

Of course i fear death... I want to live forever...

so does everyone who isn't in horrible pain, because you want to live another 24 hours, right? and after that you will still want to live another 24 hours? just take that pattern out to infinity...

and so death would take away infinity desired lifespan, so its infinity scary... so yeah, as much fear as my brain can compute, it has for death, and that's not even a fraction of the fear i would feel if i could and its a good thing i cant because i don't think i could stay sane through all of that...

anyone who still doesn't fear death, get a piece of paper, with a number of squares on it equal to your average lifespan in days... fill it in until your age, and then another box each day... to see the time passing away each day makes it more real, you will fear soon...

you can even plot things on your diagram, if it takes a week to play a game, then you can find out how many more you can play... EVER...

if it takes a month or 2 to learn a skill you can see how much you can know how to do... EVER...

and unless something changes soon (safe to bet it probably won't) there's nothing you can do about that... all you can do is look at the chart and want more time...

AND THAT IS SCARY, THAT IS THE MOST SCARY THING EVER

I haven't feared death since my suicide attempt--I've changed since then, so don't worry.
Dying is abit of a different story, but I'm confident in my resistance to pain.

I've already had several near death experiences (early 20s). It's part of life, it's natural. Even so, if you're good enough, you can avoid it.

Not so much with death, as with the problems of dying, plus that it would majorly inconvenience everyone else. But life is to good right now to want to die, so i guess yess, i do, just a healthy fear, but fear nonetheless

Death is facinatining! it's one of the few natural things that we still don't have any answers for. and the way everything is built in mind that people will die (Monuments, religions, ideologies etc), it's just so "wired" that there is no way to find out.

Do i fear death? i don't know yet. I don't think too much about it. i'm 50/50 curious/scared. But one thing is for sure, i hope i live a long life and die before any of my brothers and sisters does, cus i don't know how badly i would react to that.

I sorta do. But it's more fear that nothing waits for me afterward, that losing everything I learned and cared for will just end. Either way, I've already braced myself to die for any close friend at any given time.
