Do you feel like your posts are insignificant?

I don't think so. I mean, I don't think all my posts get read, but I know they sometimes are and sometimes they help people or make them laugh or make them think. That's all I can ask for.

I only recently started using the forums on this site (as you can see, I have something like 7 messages posted). I enjoy reading the threads, but I often don't post in them because a lot of threads already have hundreds of replies, and really who's gonna read or care about mine?

Also, typing that just made me wonder who's gonna read or care about this thread, heh.
Posting something in such threats often makes you feel this way. Unless you are quoted - it's just really cool to see that someone actually read what you wrote, even if it is only a single confirmed person.

Everyone's posts are insignificant at the end of the day. Some are more useless than others, but they all ultimately mean nothing.

On the bright side, there's no pressure to make a good one; we're all going to forget it by this time next week anyway. It's best just to enjoy whatever reason you'd come onto such a venue, rather than worry about if what you're saying is meaningful and memorable.

Nope, because of my godly presence and the fact I owned a very successful user group, you peons hang on every single word I post and you will worship me because my ego needs to be inflated, so I can fool myself into thinking my posts and threads from two years ago can be held up when someone posts an exact copy of it, I can link it and say "We don't like repeat threads here, use the Search Bar."

My posts are the standard around here and if you don't match up to them, you are not worthy of my attention or even sharing the same site as me.

No, my posts don't mean shit here. And I'm happy with that.

Kind of ironic that this has turned into quite a long thread, and I haven't read half of the posts in it

I used to feel that way for a while, but then one day there was a thread about which escapists you recognized, and my name came up a lot more than I thought. So it turns out a lot of people read the posts on here, it's just that you don't know that they did unless they reply or something.

If I can indulge my inner pessimist here: my (And everyone else's) entire existence is insignificant in the grand scheme of things! Life is short, meaningless, confusing, and horrifying!

Doesn't mean we can't enjoy our insignificant existences/posts while they last. :D

Yes, this forum is far too big for personalities.

I've been browsing the forums commenting on the odd thread here and there for over a year now and I don't recognise anyone ever. Every thread is full of a whole load of people I've never seen before.

I generally don't comment on threads that are on more than about 2 pages when I first get to them.
Who are you?
Never scene you around before, stranger.

I'm not gonna go on a rant that'll get meself ignored. So I'll just friend ya here and now.

You'd be surprised how significant posts are. People would quote me after the following 6 pages in or more. Just because it's not the first post, doesn't mean people don't look up what everyone has to say. I almost read everyone's just to know how they think and feel. I love observing of course.
I've seen threads with massive write ups fail in comparison to easy to reply to, hot topic stuff. That's what convinces me that posting is ultimately pointless except as an escape from boredom. The forums don't reward effort, the forums reward controversy.

My posts have failed to get any reaction repeatedly. Tis why I lurk more now.

Yep, all the time. I'm sure there's plenty of people here like me who kind of like that way.

It doesn't bother me if my post is insignificant. If I feel like posting my opinion in a thread I will. It doesn't bother me if no one reads it.

Of course its significant, people still read my posts after some amount of pages. That and it helps my post count. ;)
