Well, the school I go to is filled with druggies, so they can be open minded sometimes. It's fun to royally fuck with their minds when they're high. We also get visited by waaaay too many animal rights activists.

Most of my community is very narrow-minded. There are a few people that I can tell my religion to and they won't think any less of me, but only about five. A lot of my classmates are confused just by the fact that I don't eat meat, which in turn baffles me. There are Christians who don't eat meat...

One time I was having a very interesting conversation about the possibility of things like dragons being real. I put in my two cents about witches, and one kid said that they most certainly were real, but they worshiped the devil and were evil hags. I felt like punching his face in, even though there was no real proof that he was even talking about a certain religion.
...That kid sounds ignorant as hell. There are "witches",they're Wiccans,a legitimate religion.
That's pretty close to me. I consider myself Pagan, and I've done a lot of studying on witch prosecution, which is why it made me a little mad to hear those words coming from the kid's mouth. A lot of priests said that, and then they went out and killed some innocent women. (Not what this kid was going to do, but you know, the wording was the same.)

My town is a nerd town, I like it here.
Once I was walking down the street at night when I was new here, and i saw two guys in a heated debate on the street corner. I had to walk by them thinking "damn, I hope a fight doesn't break out while I'm right there".

When I get closer I hear "no no no! 2001 space odyssey is more of an EXPERIENCE..."
It was hard to contain my laughter lol.

Let's see...

I live in a town that is 98% Caucasian.
The KKK was selling Peanut Brittle about a mile from my house a month before I moved there.
A black doctor moved here about 2 years ago. He found the words "Go home N****r" etched into his car.

I think I live in a somewhat narrow minded community.

I'd have to agree, who the hell sells peanut brittle anymore???

It seems like a lot of people live in narrow minded "conservative" communities.

But what of a narrow minded "liberal" community?

Maybe it's just because I've seen both, but really, the door swings both ways. My community growing up was "conservative". My university community now is "liberal". But I've met equal numbers of close-minded people from both camps.

In my school, being called a jew is considered an insult... and I can't walk down the hall without hearing it, and there is not a single jewish person in our town even. Bunch of red neck, homophobe, hypocritical slander spouting spoiled kids who deserve to be burned alive like the human trash they are, and I hope when they are, I'm there with a video camera.

I thought that was a bit ironic.
one of the KKK's hated things are the Catholics/Irish.
Peanut brittle originated in Ireland.

My community sucks a lot due to the fact that the people here are so narrow minded its sickening. Theres only a slight few of us that play more games that just Guitar Hero or Rockband. I admit there good games but I'm into the more of the fantasy stuff which is why I guess I'm picked on but what pisses me off are the parents that blame video games for violence or like that situation where Mass Effect was on the news for a sex scene that lasted for not even 15 seconds out of like 40 hours of gameplay. Its not like anything was visible anyway god when that news lady said how bad video games are for society I was like ***** you work for the damn news you filter out to the masses about murder and crap. Ugh people piss me off.

I live in a very narrow minded town in northern New Jersey. Rich kids who think that if you have a house under 3 stories you're poor. Your parents make less than $100,000 a year? "I feel so bad for your broke ass." There's only spoiled, rich assholes in my town...
Same here! I live in central Jersey, though. In my school, if it isn't the norm then it's "gay" and whoever did this or said this is a "******"

I actually go to a Christian private school, despite the fact that I'm not Christian, but is pleasantly open-minded, or at least, even ground. It helps that I live up in New England as opposed to the Bible Belt, but there are as many homophobes as there are people who are okay with it, and such. I've developed a small circle of friends who have a colorful and dirty sense of humor.

So yeah, it's not bad.

No. My school is amazing. There's practically no bullies or fights (one fight this entire year, and it was a joke compared to some other schools). We all wear basically the same thing, so no one gets made fun of for having terrible fashion sense. (COUGH *me* COUGH). Most people are really nice, no one (mostly) will hate you for being different.
It sounds unbelievable, but really, it's true. I love it here, this is the perfect school for me.
