If you're reading a book or playing a game, do you wait until you get to the end before reading or playing another?

I do this all the time and it surprises a lot of people that I read several books at a time.

*scratches head* how do you read several books at a time but wait to the end of one to move on to another.

But anyway I always wait till I am finished a game/book before moving onto another one.

I usually get half way through a book before I start double or triple reading. Plus, I'll sometimes get assigned a book to read for homework and be reading that the same time as a book for fun. My family is always amazed that I can keep the characters straight, but it's actually pretty easy.

As far as playing more than one video game at time, I do that constantly. Sometimes I get stuck on a game, so I take a break. Most of the time I'm playing at least one console game and a portable game or two.

1 book at a time, 1 1st play through at a time.

Definently 1 book at a time though, sometimes it's so long between two pick ups I can't quite remember what's going on

I couldn't imagine reading more than one book at a time.

I've been known to do this with games but mostly I'll just stick with one member of an artistic medium at a time.
i.e. At any given time I'm reading 1 book, playing 1 game and watching 1 T.V. show.

With books, for the most part I'll read one at a time, but sometimes I'll read two or three simultaneously (one at home, one at work, one on the commute or something like that), but rarely more since I get little free time these days.

With games, I'll play several at the same time (which sort of explains why it takes me forever to finish games, despite me buying a few every month, though not so much recently).

I always stick to one game/book since I like to get fully immersed in the atmosphere and the story and then move on to something different afterwards. So obviously those things are very important to me in a game. And when it comes to gaming I also get more skilled at it when I don't swap between games that use different controls for instance.

I generally have one novel and one Uncle John's Bathroom Reader going at once, seeing as how the Bathroom Readers have no plot or characters to keep up with.

As for games, I try to stick to one at a time, but recently I've had so much to play before even more stuff come out, so not so much I guess.

I read multiple books and don't think I've stuck to one game from start to finish since I was too young to have enough games to have an option.

I read one book at a time but with games I may play one half way through but buy a new game anyway (like if I'm getting bored with the last game so I need break with a different game).

A minimum of three books on the go at all times
I dislike having commitments to multiple games at one time, I think it cheapens the experience.

I will read one book at a time, even going so far as to finish what I'm reading at the time before starting something else, even if it's something I'm more interested in reading. Same thing applys to gaming. For example, when Mass Effect 2 was released, even though I had pre-ordered the Collecter's Edition, I didn't end up playing it till almost two months after launch because I was in the first 1/3 of Mass Effect, running the character/choices that I wanted for my import of ME2.

I read one (maybe two) book(s) at a time, but will play 10+ games at a time. At current I am reading Fight Club and Brave New World, and I am playing Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess(GC), Wind Waker, Spirits Tracks, Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3(PC), Fallout New Vegas(PC), Beyond Good and Evil HD(PS3), Psychonauts(PC) and Alice Madness Returns(PC).

I tend to stick with a single title in a given medium before moving onto another, unless it is part of an episodic series. With books and games I prefer to finish them in one sitting or as few as possible. Series of film or TV programs I tend to span out a bit more especially if new installments are released periodically. This only applies to fiction. I'm more comfortable going back and forth between one thing and another in non-fiction.

Usually I stick to one book at a time but sometimes our literature teacher will want us to read something while I'm already reading something else, and then I'll have to put whatever I'm reading on hold.
Games are a bit different. I'll play one single player game at a time but I'll have a few others (Minecraft and WoW) on my pc as well in case I'm bored with the current game or just want to play something else for a change.

I can normally finish games, because I can play them quickly, but I hardly ever read books all the way through. I get going strong then start to lose steam then stop. Its a habit Im trying to break

For books, there are two catagories. Books I read for my own enjoyment, and books I have to read for school or whatnot. If I'm reading a book for self enjoyment and school assigns me a book, I read two at once. Seeing as I constantly have a book in the process of being read for my enjoyment, it happens more than I would like. Still, only one book for my own enjoyment at a time.

As for games, that's a whole different story. Sometimes I get stuck or tired of a game and move on to others, often coming back to finish up at a later date. I have several games in the process at the same time.

With books I read one all the way before moving on, but I drop in and out of games all the time. I rarely actually finish them.

It depends; if I'm rereading something, or if I'm reading something that's not particularly challenging and/or anything less than completely engrossing, I'll read 2 or 3 books concurrently. However, if I'm reading something insane like Joyce's Ulysses or Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow, or if I'm really, really into what I'm reading (this tends to happen with Chuck Klosterman books quite frequently, but it has also happened with Albert Mudrian's Choosing Death and this new book called Ready Player One), I'll give my undivided attention to that one book whenever I decide to read. As for games, I play them all concurrently - I don't exclusively play one game until I beat it.
