Im writing this to ask people about if they get OCD whilst playing video games. OCD is when you have to do something and cant go on till you do if you didnt know already. Personally in any fps i always have to reload after i kill someone which gets me a lot of deaths and i mean A LOT .Also i hate it when in open world RPGs such as fallout, TES etc I there is only a few places i havent discovered so i have to walk around everywhere.

Same, even if I shot 3 bullets I reload, just a constant fear I'm not gonna have enough ammo to kill someone if I dont' ahve a full clip. Gets me killed often, but I have trained myself to double tap the weapon switch in mid reload to cancel it when I get attacked.

That and in RPG's I must find EVERY secret in an area before I move on.

After i started playing online, i always reloaded after every shot and in most RPGs i scour EVERYTHING, scavenging whatever i could find (this applied nicely to Fallout).

Pretty much this. Thanks for writing 'my' post for me!

Oh man I too am addicted to reloading. I can't stand watching someone play while they run around with a half empty clip. Sometimes, watching them can help me realize that I would have died in that situation had I reloaded, and it was good to wait. But most of the time I keep thinking "PLEASE, just RELOAD dammit." Like when they have half a clip for almost a whole minute and there is nobody around.

Only when it comes to saving.

I save my game in three separate save slots, and every time I save, I save on all three and then again on the first so it's the most up to date one (if only by a couple of seconds).

Since everyone and their Mother thinksclaims they have OCD, I'll jump on the band wagon and say sure.

I feel obsessively compulsed to save my game in every new room. Same with the reload after every kill too. If people call that OCD, then I guess I have it too!

; )
um my mother has never claimed she had OCD

In Fallout 3 I spent half an hour decorating my room by putting unused guns on shelves and placing souvenirs on tables etc.

Explore everything, do everything, get everything and talk to everything. Yeah, I'd say I go a tad OCD when gaming. Unless the task bores me to tears, in which case I'll just cheat through it (if possible) to not have to think about it again.

I compulsively fit certain video games into an entire timeline of alternate video game history.

As if they all fit into the same universe, as long as they don't contradict each other.

I always get OCD with trophies/achievements. I MUST get them, no matter WHAT. It takes a lot of me just to ignore when something isn't 100%

I also reload every time I kill anyone on an FPS, and I do save a LOT.

All that, and if I'm on a timed race (Such as Prototype Events or any Racing games), even if I get to the finish line before the time runs out, if the run wasn't 100% flawless, an INCREDIBLE URGE comes out of nowhere, making me re-do it all over again.

I have that reload paranoia sometimes. But my bigger problem is insisting on exploring every corner and finding every item in single player games, which gets frustrating when I have to fight my way through those rooms only to have to come back to them later as part of the mission, finding them repopulated by necromorphs and mercinaries and angry tentacle monsters.

Oh god I am SUCH a scrounger in Fallout. My instinctual compulsion is to grab anything remotely of any resale value and carry a heaping pile of crap back to town with me. I've even had beers to help me carry a good haul back to town. Eventually though, I've gotten better at leaving the crap behind, after realizing how much time it wastes and how tedious it is, and how many better items are worthy of that space. But I still struggle with it though. Basically this is me in Fallout -->

Depends, sometimes it hits me pretty bad.

I spent 4 hours playing the IWBTG levels on Super Meat Boy non stop until I completed them. 2 of those hours were spent on the 3rd level >.<
