I'm told by many people that I'm random. I can never understand this,I mean I dont burst in talking about floating polar bears or anything that obscene. The way I see is that I'm just starting a conversation in a group. I don't really see this negative at all, I think it's a plus but it's just a pain when people just comment on it rather than my question. Anyone have this experience?

I have a rather unimaginitive group of friends so I get told i'm random quite a lot.

It's fine because people usually only say it once and then judge you for it silently forever, so it doesn't get in the way I guess.

i play random.

and as someone who has called some1 random, its more of a term of endearment than anything. I've seen as letting them know they are spontaneous. i do like 'random' people though because of the hilarity that ensues when they say something so ridiculous at the most stupendous times XD

which i guess also explains y i love watching the casting archon while playing random heh

Yeah I get called random a lot, as I will usually say something that is not related to the conversation my friends are having. It's usually something I am thinking of at the time, or because I am watching Law & Order: Criminal intent or Twin peaks on my iPod and will either randomly quote a line from that episode, or question a plot point aloud. It serves to derail a conversation for a while.

Yep, it really happens a lot. But my group of friends and I are all random crazy people so it's fine.

I've only ever been called "random" by stupid, unimaginative, boring people, who largely don't even know what "random" means.

No, unless I'm trying to be random, which logic dictates as NOT BEING RANDOM.(Good logic loop for the dangerous robot.)

Lets put it this way, im an accountant. I believe that should be an adequate answer to your question.
I smirked then laughed. Thanks, was having a rather sucky day.

I have before. It is usually by dumb people that don't understand tangent thinking.

Not entirely the same, but very similar:
Often, during a conversation, I pick up certain keywords, and before I can do anything against it, I've run down about five associative processes and end up on a completely unrelated topic, which I then comment upon, confusing everyone.

Maybe something like this happens with you too?
