I recommend switching to a standing desk.
Actually, this is a great idea as well. Sitting for long periods of time is horrible for you, and people who stand at work as opposed to sit tend to be healthier for it.

Another "trick" is to cut out juice and soda - it's just sugar, and juice is usually not much healthier than soda to be honest - and replace it with plain, unsweetened green or black tea. If you can afford it, matcha tea (From a company like Eden or DoMatcha; both brands available on Amazon.com) is a great weight-loss aid and it's all natural, not some pill full of herbal stimulant crap that will give you heart palpitations. ;)

Good article on the standing desk -

Recovery is all about nutrition.
Not really. Proper nutrition is important but if nutrition were everything no one would ever use steroids.

You'll never be able to set the bar higher if you work more muscle areas a day
I have no idea why you would think this. Every 5x5 regime does this. Starting Strength which is arguably the best beginner lifting program out there does this. I'm not saying that splits are inferior to whole body work outs (after the beginner phase they aren't).

Huh really? Thanks for clearing that up!

I'm not so sure if it applies to everyone though, since everyone is different. Not saying you're wrong, I just wanted to say that it will work for some people.
