The Who, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Clash are my favorite bands.

Being a drummer, my favorite musician is Keith Moon.

Sort of a left field one, but if I was asked who I think has made great music, I'd have to say Hans Zimmer. Listen to some of the work he's done on, say Modern Warfare 2, and love or hate the game, when I take off in that helicopter in Of Their Own Accord with a thumping riff in the background, it's just awesome.

Dexter Romweber is my idol, he was great in the Flat duo jets and his new stuff is excellent too.

I wouldn't listen to the vast majority of Silverchair's material these days, but I love the later - more upbeat stuff. Diorama particularly, it has heavy guitars and lush arrangements.

Pink Martini need mentioning too. China Forbes is a remarkable singer and it's such a developed sound.

One day I'm going to kill what little rock cred I have and focus on writing music that is grandiose, extravagent, and possibly slightly camp.

I will be seeing these guys in 20 short days, should be an interesting time though I've never heard of them. Just going to see Skeletonwitch.

OT: Favourite Musician: Richard Cheese. I just love the way he touches things and makes them to be quite lulzy.
Favourite Band: Assassinate the Following.. it's a few of my buddies from my hometown, and they melt my face clean off.

EDIT: Seeing as my posting a video skillz are lacking, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGV3dKOJAsg

I´ve been a Beatlemaniac ever since I was in my mother's womb (it's a family tradition, in fact).

Other than that, being a huge rockabilly and psychobilly fan, I should mention Mojo Nixon (not exactly a band, but still...), NekRomantix, Reverend Horton Heat, Stray Cats, Autoramas, The Meteors, and of course the classics Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, The King, and so on and so forth.

Outside the "billy" (and the "bands"), Big Rude Jake deserves mention, and a few Brazilian artists like Chico Buarque, Bezerra da Silva, Zeca Pagodinho...

Some other assorted bands: Pedra Letícia, Velhas Virgens, Angra up to the Rebirth album (it's also a family obligation), Iron Maiden, The Who, Uriah Heep, Creedence, Smashmouth...

Muse. They're probably my favorite band period.
Aside from that, Rise Against, Radiohead, Brier Rose...

Right now i'd have to say GoRillaZ. I view them as modern day Beatles, I'm not saying there that popular (or even should be) rather that like the Beatles, they impliment many different generes and instruments into there music and make it into somthing varied and unique.

and yes i know they're techinaclly a fake band created by Damon Albarn from Blur but there music is real enough and i find it very satisfying. The fact that the four members don't really exist i think works to the bands advantage as it allows for an unlimited amount of guest talent to come in and further expand on they're already unique music.

I don't have a favourite band. I have a few favourite albums, but generally I switch up between my collection quite a lot. Try and tailor it for my mood.

According to Last.fm, my top 10 most listened to are:

the Magnetic Fields
the Hold Steady
the Flaming Lips
Pixies
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Pavement
Radiohead
Velvet Underground
Wilco
Weezer

However, some of them I haven't listened to in months
