Do you have any interest in the Wii U?

I'm interested in it, but not nearly as hyped as I was for the Wii (which I bought on day 1). That and I lack the present funds for it. The last year has not been kind on my business.

That said, I will probably wait and see what kind of games will come out for it and I may end up with one before next December.

Morbid curiosity.

That phrase covers how I feel about the Wii U.

I feel like it'll be terrible. But I'm curious to see either how terrible or, if the gods of old allow it, if it's actually good.

Personally, I dont give a shit about the Wii U. All I see is a Wii with HD, and while my own Wii (well, more the families Wii) is no dead, I dont plan on buying another one, HD or otherwise.

In principle, no.

After owning a Wii, a Move a Kinect and a 3DS I'm basically over gimmicks. None of those delivered.

The Wii = waggle fest
The Move = A shooting attachment
The Kinect = umh, nothing really. The wife uses it for exercise.
Haven't played enough 3DS to form an opinion yet.

Give me a PS3 and a XBOX720 please.

However, regarding the WiiU I'll probably cave in eventually, if only out of curiosity.

Probably after a price drop. It used to be the case that console prices were fixed for years, but last generation changed all the rules. Different console SKU's and quick price drops. Got burned with several of those price drops, and not going to be burned again.

Nope, the only reason to buy another Nintendo console is for Mario, Zelda and Metroid. All three have been lackluster this gen. Before anyone tells me how brilliant the galaxy games were, I don't think they were that great and to be honest, I had more fun with Super Mario Sunshine. As hard as that game was, I actually stuck with it to get 120 shines. I beat the final boss on both Galaxy games as soon as I had enough stars and I never had any desire to complete them 100%.

I doubt I'll get any argument over the mediocrity of Other M but I am sure some will say how Skyward Sword is the "best game evar!" or some shit like that, don't. It looks bad, it plays bad and it has less content than Wind Waker from what I hear. Wind Waker had to fit on mini DVD's, Skyward Sword gets a full DVD and I'll bet most of the space is wasted. 5 years and this is the best Nintendo could do?

I have 2 Wii's and both collect dust AND they don't even perform well as a Netflix player. Put the PS3 beside the Wii and it streams HD Netflix content without a problem. The Wii, a few feet closer to the router can't even stream SD content without stopping to retrieve ever few minutes. It's sad really and I don't need another dust collector.
You've beaten Little King's Story, right?

How about Elebits? Zack and Wiki? No More Heroes? Muramasa? Sin and Punishment: Star Successor? Xenoblade? Dead Space Extraction? Donkey Kong Country Returns?
Also, forget Other M (which was actually pretty good if you ignore the story), what about Prime 3?
I could keep going. I always see people complaining about Nintendo's biggest 1st party titles, when they completely IGNORE anything else. I also see a lot of people going with the bandwagon opinion of the people who played the Wii for the first 6 months and just stopped, assuming the entire library from then on was just more waggle. From here, it looks like you haven't even played half the games you're complaining about. Or you really wanted to hate them, went into the game with that mindset and dropped it after an hour of criticizing everything you can and ignoring the rest. I don't think your opinion as to the whole of the Wii's library matters until you've actually played a good deal of the above games. There's a lot of great stuff on the Wii that goes completely unnoticed.
You don't think MY opinion matters? Well, fair enough, I'll also disregard yours.
I'm just saying, you seem to be judging the Wii's whole library on your fairly restricted experience with it. You and a ton of other people.
You don't know the extent of my experience with it. I have played many games on it. Little Kings Story should have been a great game but the bloom hurt my eyes and I couldn't play it very long. Let's just say that the Wii has not been a good investment for me and it's going to take more than what I have seen of the WiiU to "fool me twice".

I have a minor interest. With my Wii, the only real entertainment I got out of it was three or four games. Same issue with my DS and 3DS (with the exception of nostalgic kicks for older games, of which I own a LOT of them on their native platforms).

If the Wii U is just going to be the "next" Wii, then I have no reason to buy it. There's no software support for ME.
