I am a relative newcomer on these forums and have posted on a few threads and seen a few more. I noticed that there aren't many Pakistanis here and also noticed a thread about questions for Australians and Americans so I thought I would make one for Pakistan. Keep in mind that I am from the city of Karachi and don't know much about the villages in Pakistan.

A wonderful idea, but the last time I asked someone from Pakistan a question the UN ended up passing a resolution declaring it a war crime for me to ever be within 10 miles of the border for any country ending in "stan".

Fair enough. So in general is Canada liked or hated. The logical side of me says everyone isn't some sort of extremist shouting death to the west but I want to know just like what the general public thinks about Canadians. I mean we try to be nice and all but we get dragged in to clean up a lot of America's messes.

Canada is on neutral ground me thinks.

Ooh, here's one.

What kinds of cultures have become more melded into the Pakistani culture in general? Much like Mexican culture and becoming far more integrated into the U.S. nowadays, what other kinds of "cultural bleeding" have moved into Pakistan?

Mostly American and Indian cultures in urban areas as well as some Iranian and Arab influence. As I stated earlier, I don't know about villages.

Economics mainly. And I hate immigrants as much as you do. England should belong to the English. I believe that unpatriotic and selfish Pakistanis are steeling jobs that your people deserve. I would hate it if your people came here and started steeling our jobs too, so I feel the same if someone does it to you. I also feel that educated people who leave Pakistan when it needs them are traitors who have betrayed their country and will betray yours if given enough money.

Kind of piggybacking on that thought. One of my good friends at University is from Karachi as well, but he's going to school here in the states. Do you equate that as being similar to leaving the country in a time of need? (I haven't gotten around to asking him if he's going back after graduation yet D

If North Korea invades The USA and my land of Canada is no longer safe, can I come live with you guys in Pakistan?

I ask because I'm not sure if Canada is seen in a different light than America on the global stage.

Will I be acknowledged as a non-american, or vilified as an American?

(Im operating under the assumption that Americans are not popular any where in the world, least of all the Middle East.)

Whoever said that educated people leaving Pakistan are traitors, well... I think you're being too harsh. While you're right in a sense, it is a very hard question to ask: "My family or my country?" My parents left Pakistan when they could, not because they hated their country, but because they knew it would be better to raise their family somewhere else.
