After really reading through things and checking out the pictures, I really want to travel to Pakistan someday.
Hehe. I'll take it as a compliment.
I guess I should have elaborated a bit. The culture seems very similar and the way you have reached out like this really counters the media hype we get here. Landscape wise your country is beautiful, which is a lot coming from a Canadian whom has done a lot of travel through the world at a young age (young enough to not know the politics but old enough to remember pretty stuff). I'm very much a city boy but the vasts forests really appeal to me and the cliff/beach picture really appeals to my maritime roots.

WE WANT A REVOLUTION! Well that's the common stance. Thing is, we don't need one. We're just jumping the band wagon here.
Thats the issue with revolution now other countries think they should do it as a way to show they have power, whether they really need to or not

It's like the people who stand on the street here in australia and yell at people about all the evils happening overseas.

Stopped to ask one oneday what they suggest i should do. Their response was go over (to whatever country) and help. asked why they weren't doing it, they stuttered oh i'm needed here to get more people to help.

Some people like to shout and scream about something because it makes them feel good but would never actually do anything properly to try and help fix it

I am a relative newcomer on these forums and have posted on a few threads and seen a few more. I noticed that there aren't many Pakistanis here and also noticed a thread about questions for Australians and Americans so I thought I would make one for Pakistan. Keep in mind that I am from the city of Karachi and don't know much about the villages in Pakistan.
I've got a question.

How's your day going?

Since it hasn't actually been asked yet(I haven't seen it), What are your views on the British? Specifically the English, as the Welsh, northen Irish and Scottish(That's what I am, yay!) just kinda follow them about. :3

Oh a question... how's the food?
*bonks head* Asia. South East Asia. There's a difference. And the food is fantastic. Spicy! =D
Surely Pakistan is South West Asia... or have I missed something in this conversation?

Anyway, thanks for this thread, very enlightening. I've lived in the UK, Australia and America, which is all these threads seem to be about, so it's nice to actually learn something about a country.

My question: Pakistanis are not known for being tourists... do you travel outside of your country a lot? If so, where do you visit, either for holiday or education?

Urdu is a hybrid really. Hindi's the god-father of Urdu so to speak. In effect, it's a beautiful language, you just need to learn the prose of it. =3

And being able to speak English is a sign of higher education.

And the WW2? Yeah... we were never compensated for it. Winston Churchill was very unkind to India. Causing a famine, killing lots of innocent people.
Shurkia. That's been very enlightening :)

Where is the most naturally beautiful, in your opinion, place you've been to?

If you have traveled abroad at all, is there anywhere that you feel is similar to the Pakistani places you know?

What's your favourite indigenous food?

Duuuude...

I thought I knew a great deal more about the rest of the world then the avearge person in my country (Hint: egotistical people we are), but I really just expected pretty deserts, not pretty deserts, meadows, and mountains.

I'm jelous, america may have a few spots of intense naturel wonder, but you have to go out of your way to see it.

Anyways:

- How's the wildlife? minerals?
- I haven't watched the news for what's going on with my countries involvment in the area for a while, but are our soliders over there? are they nice?

- what % of the pop. there would be consireded extermeist, slighty biased aganist americans/jews, or comeplty accepting of most people, but a bit war shocked? Don't mean to offend, just trying to be honest.

- How hard is it to leave the country? I'd imagine it must be, because i'd think most people would want to go to europe or here.

G'day from Australia, couple of questions.
Do you like cricket?
And what are your hopes and dreams for the future of Pakistan?
And thank you for actually taking the time to post an interesting thread.

can you translate this song?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xfmDeuJchk

or at least give me a rough idea about it?

I love it, but I really don't know what he's saying. According to my limited research the guy is like the Pakistani Elton John. And I've also heard the song is a sort of gritty unrequited love song. Apart from that, I really don't know anything about it. I just really like it, lol

My urdu isn't as complicated (only studied it for 2 yrs) to understand gazals or poems but it seems he's like "WHY SO SERIOUS". Not kidding! "Hungama hai kyon barpa...daakaa to nahin daala chori to nahi ki hai" means why is there a big ruckus, it's not like he stole anything. Some stuff about he can't help but love someone, follow his heart. How love is same as God. A spot on the sun means there's angels there? If a ghost or demon says you're "kaafir" i.e. non-believer, ignore him. Only God knows if you're a believer.

Can I get a recipe for REAL Pakistani curry? Tried it once, possibly the greatest thing I ever tasted.

Also, what types of sports are popular there? Soccer/Futbol/Football is the only one I know of off the bat.

Assalam 'alaykum! I just noticed this thread and I think it's cool that a fellow Pakistani takes the spotlight to talk to people. Granted I am not truly Pakistani, I am a Khoja. I am of Indian/Pakistani heritage but my family has been in Africa for many generations,my dad lived in Pakistan for half his life though so you could he say that he is Pakistani.

So how is Pakistan doing? Any better?

how is the average housing unit in Pakistan (space or price wise), do you rent? electricity? common jobs?

how is the education there? I would assume its better than the US, but Im not sure, when do you learn algebra etc, do you guys have grades k,1-12 (well the number of grades at least, I understand thats probably not how they are called) do you guys have foreign language classes, computer science classes, drama classes? do you guys have extra circular sports or activities, like cross country, track, drama, robotics?

Do you guys have a national health care system? do you guys have a national education system like the US?

Remind anyone of anything? I know it does me. Those could have been taken from my state.

Hmmph. Rocks and mud indeed. Also, please forgive some Americans that have no intention of fighting any war ever but feel the need to harry those who are not even our real enemies. Any decent military officer knows that what we are attempting with unmanned drones would be far more efficient (and not involve as much collateral damage) if done with small highly trained task forces, as well as have greater support for our involvement at all.

They also conveniently forget that in our own declaration of independence that the charges against the power we sought to separate ourselves from included "depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury, for transporting us beyond the seas to be tried for pretend offenses, they also forget how many innocents on both sides have paid for the poor decisions of those in power with their lives. Believe me when I say that Pakistanis and other Middle Eastern nations are not alone in not wanting America there.

Also please be aware that there are a LARGE percentage of Americans that would much rather shore up our own actual DEfense than attempt any other land war in Asia. The real price of freedom is eternal vigilance not a military action with no clear objective and especially not when you don't have a concisely defined enemy. We also do not all trust what our so called fourth estate tells us particularly since it spent the last administrations tenure as it's personal lap dog. Many of us are highly suspicious and would rather not be involved in an armed conflict that is based mostly upon sound bites, suspicions, politics and of course and as always America's true enemy - Greed.

So that said in what ways does your culture pursue peace or attempt to look for alternatives to war?

Also so this isn't completely off the escapist motif what is your favorite game? Mine is something (ironically enough) named VS.

Alright, I am going to ask both the Pakistani's that are here, even though both of them may or may not be on:

1) What are your views on Sharia and the Caliphate System?

and

2) What are your views of Israel (As a nation and it's existance), and of the Israeli-Palestine Conflict?
