One word, and a number that will never get old. If you say you don't like this song, you are a satist.

500 Miles.

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

I go apeshit singin' it in public sometimes. Friends join in. Then strangers too.

It could create world peace if sung by at least one member of the U.N. . It'd catch on and spread across the globe like AIDS only healthier and actually awesome.

"Out the Window" By the Violent Femmes. That song just makes me feel better.

EDIT: Oh! "Crash and Burn" by Blues Traveler as well. A song where every instrument gets not one, not two, but THREE solos is awesome (Although the drum bits are a bit lack luster compared to the other instruments).

"Two out of three ain't bad" by Meat Loaf, actually pretty much anything off of Bat out of Hell is one of "those" songs.

"Learn to live with what you are" by Ben Folds as well if I'm particularly crappy. Important message if people are grinding you down because you're different in some way.

It'd be the greatest virus ever. Bohemian Rhapsody has to be up there as one of the best karaoke songs around.

If I'm really in the pits, not a lot can get me out of it, but I find that listening to heavy music kind of helps. I'll start with some slower Metallica stuff (Bleeding Me) and then build up the tempo (Low Man's Lyric) until I'm ready for something upbeat (Of Wolf And Man or Hero Of The Day).

If I'm pissed off to begin with, "Medusa and Hemlock" by Cradle Of Filth makes me feel better.

Let me see, there's living in the sunlight, loving in the moonlight by Tiny Tim and My baby takes the morning train by Sheena Easton. Wow that does sound faggy, but I don't care, I love these songs and they always cheer me right up (Mainly because they're impossible to get out of my head!)

I see a little silhouetto of a man, scadmaoose scadamoose wil you do the fandango. God I love that song! Sometimes when me and my friends are really bored one of us will start it up and we'll all join in. I love seeing it referenced, like in that Mountain Dew commercial, or this episode of good game (A show about gaming on ABC2 here in Australia) where they reviewed singstar queen, Junglist and Bajo (The hosts) recreated the song with guitar hero controllers and mics, even down to that iconic shot with the four members heads in a low lighting.

If I feel down, these songs really help:
Feeling Good by Muse
(More or less) everything by Bob Dylan and The Who.
(Why have they removed Bob Dylan from Spotify?! -_- )
Island in the Sun - Weezer
Dont Stop Me Now - Queen
All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
Break On Through - The Doors

And probably a lot of other songs.

Songs I listen to which just makes me sad in a good way... er. They invoke a lot of feelings at least. In a good way.

Everlong - Foo Fighters (This is one of the most awesome songs out there. It is built up just perfectly)
Rearviewmirror - Pearl Jam (Best songgasm out there. Which is when the song builds and builds to a climax. Called a Toolgasm if it's a Tool song >_>)
Song of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel (Can bring a tear to my eye)
Bring Me The Disco King (Lohner Remix) - David Bowie [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLRETBpf5q4] (Bowie is great, but this song is so much better with this mix. Which also can bring a tear to my eye.)

Let me see... I have three songs that I turn to for a little uplifting music. Stabbing Westward's "Save Yourself", Papa Roach's "Last Resort", and Theory of a Deadman's "I Hate My Life".
Though I still like to sit back, close my eyes and listen to the Kakariko Village theme from Zelda: A Link to the Past. Yeah, I'm a nerd, but as you probably all know, game music is good stuff.

Haha I have no idea why, but "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters.
I think it's because of the context revolving around that song. During the time the song came out I was a Freshman in High School and, at risk of sounding like a fucking cheeseball, that's around the time I first fell in love.
well that song has had nothing to do with any of my relationships, but i still love it anyway. maybe it's just a really good song?

add to that "Machinehead" by Bush, and anything from the OST of FLCL or No More Heroes.

oh, and this, but only if i'm watching the video: (same goes for invincible, incidentally)

99 red balloons is the one for me. Its mainly because the upbeat music makes me feel happier while the lyrics and message are dark enough for me to want to listen to it when in one of those moods.

Then when i'm feeling a bit better after 99 red balloons i play Magic Dance by David Bowie. that just completes the happy trail.
