Do you have unreasonable standards.

I have a friend that simply won't play anything retro because it's not 3D or complex or has a ground breaking story. With those standards, it made me think, how high are the standards of The Escapist.

My standards are simple. If i can get some enjoyment out of that game and i have the money I'll be buying it.

I wouldnt say I have high standards really, I grew up with the old 8 & 16 bit generations, so that doesnt bother me. I do occasionally tend to cringe though if the words "cover based shooter" or "nano enhanced soldiers" come into play, but thats just down to taste I guess

I have low expectation for old games released before 2005, extremely high for games released after that.

My standards are simple, some may even say that they are sometimes low.

Anything that entertains me, I play. And I am easily entertained.

Probably too high of expectations, honestly. It's why I don't even enjoy your average mainstream game.

I thought you were talking about taste in women...

OT:
Of course I have standards.

The game has to be fun, otherwise I will have none of it.

I've been told my standards are too low. Poor taste in computers, willing to play anything as long as it isn't so horribly repetitive or has so many glitches that it's nearly unplayable.

That's pretty sad. Galaga is an awesome game, even today. Oh well, that's where elitism gets you. You end up not having any fun.

I have pretty low standards... I'll play pretty much everything. But then again, I only buy games that get good ratings or have a pretty good reputation... except Dark Void. Dark Void was a game I bought despite its bad reviews and I pretty much agree with Yahtzee on that one (which I rarely do).
