My girlfriend plays videogames.

Infact, we play Modern Warfare splitscreen on the PS3..and she wins.

My Wife and both my daughters are avid gamers.

Edit: ironically (or not) they always pick the evil options when available.

My girlfriend loves Portal, another girl who went to my secondary school plays TF2 regularly, a friend of mine who is a girl plays and is very good at Tekken 6, another girl who is a friend of mine is godly at Tetris and finally my friend had a Chemistry teacher who played DotA regularly at the internet cafe my friends and I used to frequent.

Girls like games too. OMG, shock, horror, gasp!

EDIT: I used to know several girls from CS:S when I used to play it.

Only a few I could think of. And most of them I've heard or know they've played something at some point, not that they especially like video games.

In PC multiplayer gaming, especially in CS:S, girls aren't treated any differently than boys. No one makes a fuss if there's a girl on the mic, as far as I've noticed. I do remember one odd time though, when some girl was talking some nonsense, ranting on the mic and the others were playing and minding their business rather than talking back to her. You couldn't hear steps or anything and her stories weren't all that interesting.
Someone said "shut up for a while" in the midst of a round in a neutral manner and after that she just started raging and yelling about she can say anything she likes and you're just picking on me because I'm a girl and stuff like that. I thought it was hilarious as no one gets agitated so easily. Soon she became very annoying and when during and after the raging no one was interested in her in other ways than trying to shut her up or agitate a bit more to see what would follow, she ragequit.
It was clear from the beginning that she was just desperately seeking for attention and wanted to be treated in a special manner because she was a girl, rather than just playing the game and getting the same treatment like any other player there. Gender had barely nothing to do with that story though, just something that crossed my mind.

Quite a few. The most notable is a biologically female transgender who identifies as genderless, now that's an interesting person...

Oh god, another "OMG DO YOU KNOW GIRLS MIGHT LIKE THIS THING THAT I PERCEIVE IS ONLY LIKED BY GUYS???" thread. I see one of these per month on every forum I'm a member of, damnit!

To answer your question: I am a girl, and I like video games. >:[
The question is: do you know yourself?

And really, this is getting old. We don't need any more of these topics. Some girls play video games, some do not. Stop getting shocked every time you find out there is someone who actually plays video games.
