I'm a terrible liar. I even leave one or two things out that I have done or seen because to me they seem too farfetched for anyone to believe. Things that really you'd have to have been there to see yourself. So, no.
^ This. To avoid being called a liar, I sometimes downplay how crazy some things really were, but more often than not I just don't bother posting at all - I write something up, look at it and say "Nope. That is going to get flamed to all hell" and then click away to elsewhere.

I once made an extra account on a forum so I could argue with myself. Why? Because my just posting my oppinions on something (all of them), tended to make people flame me because I was being "Inconclusive".

I often, well, let's just say stretch the truth to make my point. But I don't outright lie.

No.. I dont lie about myself... But I tell lies about you every chance i get ;)

In all seriousness. I do lie, but only in the context that I refuse to put real information about myself online for multiple reasons. Outside of keeping ones true identity concealed for the good of the internet, I see no real reason to lie online or off. Even when it hurts peoples feelings

I see no reason to lie to a bunch of strangers that have not the slightest affect on my life. I have no one to impress, much less random nobodies on the internet (No offense). I just stay honest. Lying isn't worth it, because the bullshit always comes to light. Eventually, anyway.

But I really do have a 15" penis... ;.;

Nah, I'm pretty honest about everything. Lying takes too much effort and I am lazy. Plus with it being online everything is written down so if someone catches you out and is willing to log dive you can lose all credibility once and for all.
But mainly the laziness thing coupled with the fact that I don't care what anyone thinks about me.

I keep unique Personally Identifying Information off the tubes.
Things like gender, age group and interests I leave relatively public, because even with data mining and metrics, you would be very hard-pressed to actually isolate who I am.
(nevermind that the real me is frankly rather boring)

So in doing so, I do not overtly "lie" as I withhold part of the truth.

(it helps if you don't use personal social sites any of the "MyTwitBook" or similar fare, but for most this is an unacceptable cost for anonymity online)

Occasionally if it gets a point across better than saying "Someone I know did this".

For instance, I told people I use an old PC as a Firewall yesterday in reply to someone saying firewalls weren't ever a physical thing, I figured this would translate better than "Actually, you can use old computers as firewalls" because someone might have demanded proof which I could give them easily but would have been an avoidable hassle.

I pretty much never lie about anything serious or important though, and I don't lie to make myself look better either, just never seemed right to me.

part of the attraction of being on places like this is that I don't have to worry about the baggage of life.

Lie? of omission maybe.

Since I'm already at the pinnacle of physical and mental prowess, a self-made trillionaire, ladies' man and all-round great guy, I have no need to lie or exaggerate the truth. ;)

But seriously, I don't exactly go around handing out personal details to everyone on the interwebs, but I never consciously lie about stuff. I get absolutely nothing out of you lot whether you think I'm stinking rich or homeless or whatever, so what's the point?

I'm entirely honest.

In fact, I'm the most honest centuries-old lord of the undead trapped in his castle with the internet that you'll ever meet.

I don't ever lie about myself online. In the past I would lie a lot, but my attitudes have changed over time.

I think I've been 100% honest online for about three years, ever since that threesome with Jessica Alba and Scarlett Johannson.
