I am boringly honest, even on the Internet. I am very blunt too and I know I have pissed people off by telling them things they didn't want to hear or expected me to sugar coat it for them... I just can't do it.
And I absolutely despise being lied to. I usually immediately cut someone out of my life when/if I find out they have clearly lied to me about something important. I just end up not trusting them and it is pointless to try keeping up any sort of relationship after that.

"Are you alright?" "Yeah".
I do that all the time, so I guess that makes me a compulsive liar.
However, other than people asking how I am feeling, I don't lie. I just phrase the truth in a way that confuses others.
So not technically lying apart from when people ask how I feel, just stating the truth in a way that won't be understood. If I don't want to tell the truth, yet have to.
Not my fault if it isn't understood.
"Its not lying if they don't ask the right question." :p

IRL, I've lied tons. Usually so people will stop pestering me with questions.
Online I'm usually truthful, if a bit prone to exaggeration.

Yeah, sure, I've lied a few times. Usually when it doesn't matter. Not about anything big, and I don't stick to a lie for the sake of it. It's not like I consciously put effort into deceiving people. Lying on the internet is easy when no one knows or cares who you are. What difference does it make to people here if I say I smoke when I usually don't?

I've also lied to people in real life. Usually to get out of trouble. Self-preservation. It's usually just in the style of, "Oh, I didn't go to X because I was doing Y" when really I just didn't go because I didn't want to.

Ninety nine percent of the time my lies are politeness lies. Things you say that aren't true because it's common courtesy. Such as, "I love what you've done with your hair" or "I'm really looking forward to this" or whatever.

Yepp, a lot. My life isn't very interesting so I have developed a tendency to take something I've heard and "make it mine".

..trying to stop, though.
good. I hope you succeed, cause there's nothing more annoying than hearing somebody else tell you your own story.

Sometimes, I suppose. Don't usually have a reason to lie, but occasionally I've twisted the truth a bit.

On occasion, I'll bend (but not break) the truth. For instance, I'll claim that I've already done things, and then go do them.

Other than that, I don't see how mistruths are going to help anything or anyone.
