If you mean sub vs dub, then that's certainly something to bring up, yes.The Middleman said:The original work as in making comparisons in say, voice acting choices or editing with that or the original anime. Well that's the one specific example I can think of at this moment, but I think that there are other ways that that could come into play.
You will be getting the DVDs. These are almost always unedited. The Middleman said:Ah, well if that's the case then would I also be able to compare TV cuts? Or would that be considered a low blow?
(edit after realizing what he said doesn't explain what he means to well.)
I say that mostly as not too many American TV cuts of anime do justice to the original. Of course they have to suit the audience viewing the subject matter for public television, but a lot of production agencies cross the line between minor changes and screwing with future plot devices for not knowing any better. =\
Whenever we send them the first DVD. Within a month. The Middleman said:Oh, one last question. When who ever gets the position gets the position, when do they start?
Yeah, it's odd. I'm not sure if this place has a whole lot of foreign readers, or the people that actually planned to apply didn't bother posting in the thread. Who knows, maybe there just aren't many people interested in actually writing. I'm curious how many people will apply in the end. I just can't imagine it being a tiny number.fanklok said:hmm after scouring this thread it appears as though all the major would be competition is a) not american b) didn't post in this thread (hope it's not this one)
I haven't posted anything on this but I've know about it for weeks, just didn't want people to be aware of competition. In retrospect, that was probably a bad idea, since the lack of posts by people applying has certainly insured that I actually give it a shot. Oops.Askepios said:Yeah, it's odd. As John said earlier:Bandit-K said:Yahtzee lives here in Australia and he does reviews for The Escapist so why are the Anime reviews only in America? Im sure they could set up a system of the review writer purchasing the DVDs and The Escapist pays them back / pays them in advance?
I would have said Continental North America if it included Canada. Sorry!YashiYashi said:By Continental United States, does that include Canada? That's what the definition of "Continental United States" is... but I get the feeling from the responses of this thread that it meant "US residents only."
