I'm currently enjoying some Green Lantern, especially New Guardians. Supergirl is good too. Others as well.

You?

I finally got one today! I read Action #1 and loved it, probably going to try my best to pick it up every month.

A lot of them were perfectly cromulent. The standouts for me (haven't read this week's yet):

Animal Man, OMAC, Batwoman, Frankenstein, Batman, Wonder Woman. Action was better than I expected.

Props to Tomasi for not butchering anything in Batman and Robin, but I'm still wary. Damian is a tough character to write.

Ressurection Man, Superboy, Demon Knights, Supergirl, BOP are all intriguing but I won't pass judgement yet.

I don't read many comics these days but I picked up Catwoman #1. Not terribly impressed. Too much T&A and the artwork isn't even good enough to make that a guilty pleasure. Ah well, at least they've resisted the urge to change her look so far.

/Sigh. In fairness though I should admit that any Catwoman that isn't the glorious Brubaker run tends to be a letdown for me.

I fucking love Batwoman. I also really like Batman. I haven't gotten the chance to read any others, which upsets me. Next on the list is Batgirl, Wonder Woman, and Animal Man, because I heard good things about those.

So far I've gotten Flash, Batman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Blue Beetle. I'm still waiting on Justice League, Action Comics, Detective Comics, Teen Titans, and Superman. I honestly don't even know if I'll get JL or AC since those came out weeks ago and still haven't arrived.

Anyway, all the issues I've gotten so far have been great, with Blue Beetle probably being the weakest if only because it doesn't show off BB in action at all. Flash, Aquaman, and Batman have been excellent, though.

If anyone wants an avid comic reader's review on the whole series of "The New 52" then I strongly suggest you check out Linkara's reviews called "That's All I'm Saying" on his blog. [http://atopfourthwall.blogspot.com/] Though he's not claiming that his opinions are absolute truth, he still provides good insight and recommendations for new readers.

All in all, it seems like at least the mainstream heroes and groups comics are off to a good start. There are some issues that aren't good (according to Linkara), but most of the ones people have actually heard of seem to be ranging from good to great, which is all I hoped for.

I got Action Comics, Superman, Batman: The Dark Knight, Green Lantern, Red Lanterns, Aquaman, and The Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Men and I've enjoyed them all.

Everyone reeeeally needs to pick up Animal Man. It's good. Best thing out of the new 52, plus if you're not familiar with the rich history of Animal Man, the first issue has a nice little introductory "interview" with the character somewhat summing him up (which is something every first issue of the new 52 needed in my opinion, in some way shape or form. I mean, isn't this all supposed to be the starting point for a lot of new potential readers?).

I started as a skeptic, it's hard for anyone to make a character/characters seem anything but boring when their last handler was Grant "The Mindfuck" Morrison. But this team is doing an admirable job. The first two issues actually give the impression that it's a bit of a horror comic. It's pretty awesome. I guess you can take the comic out of the Vertigo but you can't take the Vertigo out of the comic!
