I really liked it (even the ending as I had done pretty much everything there is to do with my good karma character) I also reject the assertion that it is oblivion with guns. The AI in fallout is far more intelligent, I found less bugs than oblivion and having a permanent effect on places was fun (e.g megaton, republic of dave, tenpenny tower etc).

Plus I was disappointed with V.A.T.S. It may get better but right now the hit % is way to low to even bother using it.
By the end of the game my Vats for short to middle-long distance was around the mid eighties to mid ninties mark.

The only thing I really dislike is the computer hacking. That is a pain in the ass
I actualy liked computer hacking it was fun at least until my science skill was stupidly high and then it was just guess three random ones (there were normally only a few there with high science skill) and if they are wrong exit the terminal and retry. Also you know that if you get it wrong you can leave the terminal and reenter it and you're tries will be restored and a different puzzle will be there right?
Seems OK I suppose. I guess I was hoping for a bit longer range though.
I was using an assault rifle and so middle-long is actualy alright; try grabbing a sniper rifle theres one on the guy in minefield I didnt actualy use one so can't say what the vats/range for it is.

I like how it specifically kicked you in the balls if you were a good guy. It makes the game a lot harder and I thought the overall message of that was hilarious.
Hmm? What are you refering to here? I only had the chance to play one character through ot the end before the rental shop wanted it back and played a Good karma Female and wanna know what you mean so I can look out for it when I get the money to buy the game.
Well first, it should be noted that I played on very hard so if you don't play on the same difficulty your experience may vary and that when I say good karma I mean I NEVER lost karma. First of all you can't get a lot of the unique weapons unless you kill some good people causing negative karma. You can never get enough caps because the enemies loot will never be enough to pay for the massive amounts of ammo you need to take each enemy down. Os when I play as a good guy I always have weak weapons with little to no ammo making each encounter balls to wall difficult. I could go into to tons of detail but if you Buddhist-style good and play on very hard, you will see for yourself.

I agree it was just mindless game breaking guessing. it was a waste of my time and it is required at higher levels of difficulty.

Yeah I got it, right now though I'm better off free shooting it.

I enjoy it, though "oblivion with guns" isn't that far off since the engine is pretty much the same... well it is the same engine just with a few upgrades.

All in all it could have been done better, Bethesda recycling the Oblivion engine into it was a bad move, how old is that engine now? Though, I'm still playing it, in fact modding it so its gotta be good :p

well i kind of think that fallout 3 was oblivion with guns and exploding pants the games are so similar that the bad guy might as well be Dagon that gigantic monstrosity.

YES...A resounding yes

1000/1000 GS in it

Slightly over 100hrs play time

Probably my favorite game last year.

Ironically I got the bobble-head from the escapist.

I less than three fallout.

I don't get why people criticize it so much. I will buy all the DLC the moment it comes out.

Yes. I like it, even though it was short and had a ridiculously low level cap.

Hey, just so you people know? Aside from just being a Fallout fan and liking Fallout 3, I should point out...that I haven't played Oblivion. So, to me, Oblivion is like Fallout 3 without guns. (Or would be if I played it.) *Shrugs* Sorry.

Honestly ..no. And it pains me to say this. I want to like this game - hell i want to LOVE this game. I want to feel like a badass and this game makes me feel like a nancy. I dont like getting my ass kicked in games, i like feeling like no one can kick my ass. Now i know alot of you are going to say boo hoo you just suck at the game - well i dont i'm just fine. I did a fair amount of side quests along with the main quest and i'm left astoundingly underwhelmed. This is not Obliv. with guns for me, its not even close. Half of the fun in Obliv. was going and doing guilde stuff or running around the crazy detailed landscape. I dont like looking at wasteland. O hey lets go over there and look at some more greyish-green stuff. Now i love obliv.(150 hrs) and have nothing against the people who like this game and say its obliv. with guns, but IMO your wrong. I just hope bethesda makes a new elder scrolls game soon. - And lastly the only way to repair your stuff is with another gun!?! who the EF thought that was a good idea? Just let me repair it with a hammer like i did in Obliv.

There's already an official Fallout 3 Thread. Search for it.
Thank god somebody pointed that out. But I guess since all the previous posts are from new-ish people it's not their fault.

A friend of mine plays this and absolutely loves it. He gets excited telling me about it and the way he talks about it makes me want to play it. I just don't have $50 to drop right now (or $40 on Amazon) but I may weedle some game time from him to see what it's like.

He also played FO 1/2 and loved those games also. He judged this one on it's own merits but also enjoys how they brought over a lot of details over from the older games. Actually I want to buy it just to meet Bob after hearing my friend talk about him.
