I am a huge fan. I love(d) Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City is my favorite GTA, SA was unadulterated fun, and IV is a monumentous step forward for Gran Theft Auto, and video gaming as a genre.

I can't wait for GTA:V

It's alright, but it takes itself a bit too seriously for me. Though, it did spark a few more interesting, much better games, and practically spawned an entire half-genre of gaming, so I'll give it that. The freedom to do things was always fun, like just sending a rocket to the oncoming mob boss' car and seeing the mission be complete, even if you were supposed to run away from them for awhile, killing them gradually. But, we did get Saint's Row, Mafia 2, Red Dead Redemption, and L.A. ConfidentialNoire from it, so, hey, good for it.

I love the series, I didn't like GTA IV as much though, way to gritty, but me and my friends found ways to make that game last for months, with such multiplayer shenanigans as barricading ourselves in the cluckin bell and defending ourselves against angry cops, until one of us made a run for it and returned in a helicopter for extraction, thankfully Saints Row fills the sillyness void left by GTA IV

I don't hate the series. 1 was okay, 2 was great, 3 was great, Vice City was amazing, and never played San Andreas. What I hate is GTA for taking the fun out of the series.

Eh, I got sick of San Andreas after 10 minutes of the story mode. The over-saturation of 'gangsta' killed it for me, but I did have fun playing co-op with a friend who had unlocked everything. GTA4 held my attention for a lot longer plus entertained me more and Red Dead Redemption was fantastic.

I enjoyed Grand Theft Auto, San Andreas. That was my first venture into the "Screw Around" type sandbox. I then tried GTA 4, which was interesting, but not all that fun.

Loved GTA: Vice City since it was the first game I'd ever played where you could kill people in a realistic way. Appeals to any 12-year old, I'd say.
San Andreas was even better, apart from the story, and I could spend hours just cruising around on my motorcycles.

Didn't get very far with GTA IV however. The handling on the vehicles were shit and the constant cellphone calls drove me nuts. Ment to try again later when I quit playing, but I don't see it ever happening considering it must've been over two years since I got it.
Doubt I'll pick up GTA V, if it's ever being made, unless they've fixed the flaws from GTA IV.

GTA:IV was a good giggle but it got tiresome very quickly I found. Enjoyed Vice City thoguh.
San Andreas just didn't do anything for me (apart from almost continuously parachuting off the moutain, that was fun), I'm just not into all that 'gangsta' thing it had going on.

So althoguh I don't hate it, I also don't think it is anything brilliant. Like someone said on page one, It's more "meh" for me than anything else.

I first came across GTA when they gave away a playable demo on the cover of the Official PlayStaion Magazine UK, way back in the late 90's. I fell in love with it instantly and have played every PS release of the game since.

I enjoyed every single one more than the last as well - until they fucked up with GTA IV. It just didn't feel like "proper" GTA to me. A lot of the over the top gameplay and childishly delightful humour had just disappeared. Gay Tony was the closest they came to recapturing "old" GTA.

I sincerely hope that the next GTA takes the series back on track.
