I do, but I like stuffy clammy forests just as much. Still, I much prefer pines over evergreens.
Wait, last time I checked pines were evergreens.

Given that Grizzly Hills is my favourite WoW zone ever, I say yes. I mean, just look at it, and listen to this:
Brilliant that is.

Love them, and sweden is full of them too. Although most are spruceplantings, making them pretty monotone.

They're lovely, especially for long romantic walks.

I actually prefer these. They're not nearly as difficult to read as the reCaptcha ones, so I can spend less time decoding warped lettering and more time reading TV Tropes.

Captcha = Silence is Golden
It certainly is when sitting in the office with flu symptoms!

Yes, very much so. I like deciduous forests just as much too. Spent way too much time as a kid exploring the forest behind my house not to.

I love all kinds of forests. Pine forests are very nice, though the commercial evergreen forests are a little repetitive. I slightly prefer deciduous forests, their trees have more personality.

And I can't help but giggle at all the city-dwellers who are afraid of a little nature, even in this thread.

Yeah, I lived in a house that was right in front of some woodland. So going through there was an everyday thing for me.

I hope he's joking.

Hey I just remembered I have pictures of the woods behind my old house on my computer!

I pretty much love all outdoor areas, but forests in particular. Especially piny ones. I spent a lot of time at my grandparents' cabin as a kid, so they just have a very magical, mysterious feeling to them.

Except at night. Then they're absolutely terrifying. (Especially if I'm playing Silent Hill, alone, in a cabin, in the middle of the night, like an absolute moron.)

Well I once got lost in one for a week without food so...
I love them, they're pretty relaxing as long as you don't have to spend the night in the wilderness without a shelter, pretty great, the smell of pine is pretty good too, yeah Pine Forests are pretty great though I think that of any outdoors environment including the desert so what I think of them hardly matters.
[sub][sub][sub]I think I bring this up at least once a month, I really should stop now...[/sub][/sub][/sub]
How did go you hungry? You couldn't find any pine nuts, acorns, or berries? I got lost in the woods for a week to and I gained 5 pounds.

OT: I have no choice anymore, I live next to a pine forest, they're there, always watching, waiting for me to go sleep. But I won't sleep they won't get me.

Well, I like all kinds of woods and nature, but I'd prefer a wood with trees with normal leaves (yeah, I have no idea what the english word for that is). They tend to be brighter and more populated by birds and stuff.
The word you're looking for is "deciduous." (Used as an adjective, thus "deciduous forest.")

has anyone ever walked through one of those forests with the trees planted in neat rows? They're awesome, especially the pine tree ones!

No idea. Haven't been to any pine forests. They look alright but I'd imagine those needles get everywhere.

As for normal forests: they're ok when they're not pollinating everywhere. I used to spend days in the woods near my first house with all my mates building these little huts with fallen branches and helping my grandad with the gardening when I went round there, then the sniggering dealer that is fate handed me the hayfever card.

Absolute love. I grew up in an area heavily populated by pines. I even moved to an area specifically because i was heavily populated by pines (and had colder average weather)

Without there presence the world just does not feel right. cause, yanno, the trees are the right height.

I love pines. So majestic in the winter. Pain in the ass to maintain a lawn with them around though.

I love deciduous forests, but pine forests make me miserable. :-( It's hard to enjoy anything when your eyes are burning and you're sneezing your damn fool head off!

Pine forests are the only type I've ever been in, or even seen in real life, I think. But yes, they're nice. Rubber boots are a must when you go in a forest, though. Unless you take the easy way and follow the paths. But that's cheating.

I suspect troll thread for some reason. I dont get the joke if there is one though...
Does there have to be a joke? Just a nice thread about pines, because pines are cool. Unlike those damn birches. I say, only good bich is a dead birch (for building stuff). I'm allergic to them, you see.
I am doing the Phillip J Fry squint at the computer screen right now. (cant be bothered fetching the picture)

No, but then I am mildly allergic to pine trees/needles and my skin will get very itchy and my eyes swell up a bit.

In general they are quite gloomy and dead seeming in comparison to a normal forest because of the way they blanket the ground and shut out light so well. I find them kinda unpleasant and i'm more used to birch trees around me because of my local area.

I think the most ugly trees are probably yew trees though, a selection of yew trees can be really ominous..
