Requiesta im pacce...

Yeah... Amen to that.

AC: Revelations doesn't promise less of said aliens really. I do like the story of Ezio though, but Desmond can choke it.

No, not particularly. They give me a mystery without any clues. That is the most boring kind of mystery to be handed. I have no idea where they're going with the whole thing and, quite honestly, I stopped caring after the second game when I decided the particular combination of rather boring gameplay and utterly unengaging story was not buoyed by excellent world building enough to be worth my time any longer.

Why does he stab her?
I think she was a double agent for the Templars, if I remember right there was a red trail around the hideout in Monteriggioni suggesting someone was spying on the Assassins.

I love mysteries so, yes. I like the story. I like Ezio's storyline better than Desmond's and Altair's story, but Desmond's story adds another great layer to an already great existing storyline. I really can't wait to see how it unfolds. And I actually like Desmond. He didn't get a chance to be a well developed character. We don't really know much about him yet. That's why I don't mind if AC3 turns out to be all about Desmond.

Nope.

It was okay up until ACII. Nothing special, but basically functional.

Then I unlocked the first "Truth" video.
"Hm, two naked humans, male and female, displaying unusual agility while running through what I think was a futuristic garden of some sort. Well, they're clearly Adam and Eve, but why the futuristic stuff?"
"Oh hell, they're going to pull the whole humans-are-an-alien-science-experiment thing. Well, crap."
"Nah, have some faith. They're better than that. The story has been alright so far. Maybe this is a red herring."

*many hours pass*

"Son of a *****."

And Brotherhood added bugger all. I barely remember what happened in that game. Just Ezio seeing the sights in Rome and Desmond royally screwing the pooch. It's like they had a level that they didn't manage to fit into ACII, then decided to stuff it with filler and turn it into its own game. (EDIT: I just realised that I'm very nearly quoting Yahtzee there. Still true though.)

I think the story is fine. I don't really like Desmond, but I think the present-day story itself is fine and the interweaving of the past stories is interesting, though I wish they mixed it up a bit more.

What I don't like is the fact that none of the games, not even the first one, had any semblance of being self-contained. A single story stretched over at least 5 total games all (I'm assuming ScreedRev will) ending with bullshit cliffhangers is pushing it for me. We'll see if I give any time to ScreedRev or Screed3 because of that.

I agree, it felt like it was just thrown in there. I also hated the ending of AC Brotherhood. I mean seriously, Minerva makes Desmond stab Lucy because? It's not exactly the kind of ending you're expecting.
