Nehemias. I'm happy with it, since it's a fairly unique name, although people almost always mispronounce it the first time.

Nam Woon. Most people seem to be incapable of saying it so I get irked from time to time but it's unique enough so I can't complain.

Michael.
Not really, I swear throughout grade school, high school, and college there was always like 10 Michaels around.
Hell in highschool most of the people who knew me from grade school called my by my last name, I remember when in my junior year someone called me by my first name and some people were like wtf you're name is Mike?!

Caitlyn. I really only dislike it when people say my name, only for me to realize they're talking to another Caitlyn/Kaitlyn/whatever-other-spelling-variations-of-that-name-exist. It's annoying. :p Thankfully, it doesn't seem to be as common as some other names I know.

Well you don't meet too many people named Peter, and it's a pretty versatile name. My friends can call me Pete, when I was a little kid I went by Petey, and I even have my pirate name: Captain Pete Pete Jangles. So in the end it all worked out.

Matthew.
I like it.
Originally, my father wanted my name to be Zane. I wish I got stuck with Zane instead of Matthew, much less common and Zane just sounds cool, kind of like Fonzie.

What do you do if you hate your name? I don't mind my first name as much, but I've never been cool enough for a nickname :(

I guess I just....deal with it I guess.

Salutations, fellow Escapists! I am incredibly bored today, so I could think of nothing better than asking random people on the Internet what their opinions on their given names are.

Personally, I like my name a lot. So, what about you? Do you think your name is the best name anyone could have ever given to anybody else in the history of forever? Or do you despise it with a burning passion?
I like my name a lot. So much that if your name is Kenneth, I would hate you with with all of my hate. :D

Alexander.

I quite like it. Sounds impressive, and means "Protector of Men" in Ancient Greek. It's a bit weighty though, so I usually go by Alex.

I'm not overly keen on my name, it's ridiculously common and yet some people still spell it wrong >.<

Lucky for me my names not that common when spelt that way, though I really would've preferred my mom's original first choice, Quinn, or my Grandpa's name (which was also considered), Alden. Of course since I'm so white, some of my friends call me Creamer or Mickey (cause of my last name).

Sean is an okay name. Nice and short, but it's a bit common. Most of the time, I don't mind it, though. It's not top-of-the-list common, but it's not obscure, either.

A friend of mine is named Elektra. I love her name. I think it really fits her; both her name and personality are really memorable.

There's a guy at my school called Alexander, but instead of shortening it to Alex, it's shortened it to Xan (Zan). It sounds cool, would be cooler if he wasn't a complete asshole.

OT: Meh, Caleb is all right. Not the best of names but it does its job.

Holly (bet you couldn't have guessed that right?!)

I neither like nor dislike it. It's just, mine.

It has the unfortunate ability to be changed quite easily for mildly insulting nicknames (eg. wolly, dolly etc.) but nothing major.

I love my surname though, since it's really unusual.

My name literally translates into "polite bear".

It's a pretty damn awesome name, all things considered.

Emma. I like it because it's boring and has (almost) no associations tied to it. It's also easy to spell and easy to say.

Full marks to my parents for the choice.
