I kinda despise my name, I think my parents actively hunted for the girliest thing they could find and figured 'that'll do'. It's ok if it gets shortened, which, thankfully, almost everyone bar my family and a few university lecturers do now.

I did ask about alternative names I might have been given. Apparently my only shot for a halfway decent name would have been if I were born a guy...

Lucy.

I'm of the feeling it doesn't quite suit me, but otherwise it's okay.
Also, it's a dog's name. I'm forever running into people who are like `Oh, I have/had a dog called Lucy!`. You dont say...

My name literally translates into "polite bear".

It's a pretty damn awesome name, all things considered.
seems way too close to pedobear.....
well, I only put "polite" because I'm unsure of the correct spelling of "courteious" and Word has decided to kill itself.

Yeah, I like it. My name is Daniel, which is pretty common(though I still haven't met many people named Daniel in my life). Since I live in Sweden I automatically get the nickname "Danne". Mentioned it in other name threads, but we do that with a lot of names here.

If I was born a girl my name would've been Miriam Aila. Would certinly stick out in a crowd.

Yeah, I like it :D

Friends and family usually call me Ash, which I like too.

I was being called Ash before Pokemon made it cool.

Khayl.

im pretty happy with it. it has scored me several free beverages through playing the ''i bet you cant spell my name'' game. its the silent ''h''.

and ive never met or even heard of anyone with the same name. sure you get ''Kail''s and ''Cayl''s, but thats as close as they come. what can i say, im one of a kind :)

also its great for gaming, as i ALWAYS get my own name e.g. WoW or TOR.

and the kicker? my email address is simply Khayl@live.com

Mio, means either "Mine" in Spanish, or, as Wiki claims, Meow.
I quite like it.

I like it, but hate when people see my name and call me the typical nickname for it. Grr.

Please, please, please, don't call me Jenny. It's Jen.

I don't like the name my parents picked out for me, but the name I picked out for myself, Kelsey, I really like. There's just something magical about the letter "K".

My name's Steven. Personally I hate it. It sounds weird IMO. It also doesn't really roll off the tongue easily.

It also serves as a landmine for anyone with the slightest lisp.

Not my intials SS, not really the best combo, but first name Simon is all right. Nothing special, nothing too common.

I like my first name. Hell, I like it so much almost all my handles are derivatives of it!

Middle name, not so much. Seriously, "Greg" - probably the worst name ever. I don't even want to know what my parents were smoking when they came up with that...

It's short and pretty cool-sounding if I say so myself. It's derived from the Irish name meaning;"The Red", or the French word for King.

I like it, it can be formal in the full form and easily shortened in multiple ways (Doug, Dougy , Dougie) plus its Scottish and means "from dark water" in gealic (spelling???) which is kind of awesome.
