Do you "own" your username?

My username was stolen twice, one where the account was hacked and another where some dits on WOW used mine. Every other char that popped up was mine. My name is usually dragerien or dragerien2.

For those of you who usually use the same username on different sites, what happens when you Google it? Have you reached the point where the majority of results are from you registering it, not some "impostor"?

And for those of you who're buried in obscurity, do you wish you'd been as smart as Randall Munroe and picked something as unique as "xkcd" when you made up your name at age 12?

As for me, I was surprised to find myself occupying 50% of the top 10. But I do wish it was more unique, cause dudes keep beating me to it on registrations.

Thanks to the Warcry network (who seem to have my Escapist profile...), my user name makes up the entire first page when you search for it.

And the second page.

Hell, my user name takes up all 7 pages!

I believe so yes, but I'm nowhere near egotistical enough to actually search for myself.

Pretty much mine. You'll get xfire results and my empty wordpress blog with a space, and my steam profile without.

Though, there's something mentioning Molotov (line break) H20 in some horribly designed web page. Not quite sure what that's all about.

My other name contains a lot of characters that seem to have been mashed together.

Well, the majority of the hits on...most of the pages have my account or post links, to the Escapist or other pages I have registered. Even the image search goes to the Escapist almost every link. I use this username on many sites, so there are a lot of links and all of them lead to me, muahhahhaa!...yeah, cool.

Hey, someone on WoW has the same username, but he has registered...last year, so he must have copied me, outrageous!

Also, it seems I have an account on Gaia Online, huh. I can vaguely remember making that ages ago, though I have now idea why...but anyway, that is all.

Because my name is so damn generic I put in ultimateownage without a space, but I'm still not on the front page, my escapist profile is 5th on the 2nd page and my fpsbanana profile is 7th on the 2nd page. My normal name is OWNAGE!!! so there's no way in hell you'll find me there, damn my generic name.
