When you google Furburt I think you just get me.

Yeah it seems to be mostly me.

This is interesting however, according to Urban Dictionary, a Furbert is 'A person, usually a man, that is erotically involved or fixated on teddy bears. This is considered to be a fetish.'

Hmm. Learn something new every day.
About the name or yourself? Just askin'...

OT: I wouldn't say I 'own' my name online. The full name is Captain Gilligan Blackout, but Blackout is a common name for those of the pirate persuasion so it's a tad hard to be unique. However, there are places you could show up and if you weren't me and tried to use the name, you'd be laughed out the door. With clubs if needed. None of the people doing the laughing or the clubbing would be me.

Yes, my name is unique, and, oddly enough, when Bing'd the top result is my used-once Cheezburger.com account. However, if Google'd, don't expect anything relating to me. It was made when I was in a ruch to make a Yahoo accoutn so I could instant message my friends back in 6th grade. It has since evolved from "clueless_hero" to the more mature version today.

I'd say I definitely "own" my username. I've seen it once, on Youtube - aside from that, all results you'll find on google are accounts belonging to me.

For those of you who usually use the same username on different sites, what happens when you Google it? Have you reached the point where the majority of results are from you registering it, not some "impostor"?

And for those of you who're buried in obscurity, do you wish you'd been as smart as Randall Munroe and picked something as unique as "xkcd" when you made up your name at age 12?

As for me, I was surprised to find myself occupying 50% of the top 10. But I do wish it was more unique, cause dudes keep beating me to it on registrations.
Yeap.....well other than dictionarys and that one twitter page which is obviosuly been taken over by a bot or something.
also if you put my real full name in, all hits are 100% mine. Also the same with my other alias

My name is apparently unique. I never have a problem securing the name and I didn't care to look at my google returns.

If anyone else is using my username, I would seriously like to meet them and find out what the hell is wrong with them.

I thought of making a WoW character with this name but I realized I'd never play anything but solo because the party leader would be like "/invite msher--[backspacing] mscher--[backspacing] msherch-- screw this! /invite Stealthystud."
