Some fans of Assassin's Creed skipped out on Brotherhood and Revelations, mainly do to the fact that they havnt changed protagonists in two games and the one game a year thing is tiring. But the story in game is set up where everything ends in 2012 meaning theres one more game coming next year.

So Escapists, are you planing on getting 3 if it comes out next year? Do you think it will have that many improvements seeing as how the last one just came out?

I do indeed plan on getting AC3, been there from the start so I will finish the story.

Yeah of course, I mean honestly I know that Brotherhood and Revelations were with the same character but it did have a good story setting the stage, and Revelations literally starts tying up some of the legit plot holes in the game.

I do plan on getting AC3. Hopefully a new setting and protagonist will bring back some life back into the series. I'm so tired of Ezio at this point.

Well, I recently finished Assassins Creed 2 and based on that no. I still have some optimism and hope left in my heart, so maybe I'll buy Brotherhood for cheap at some point to see if it gets any better but AC2 was a huge dissapointment and killed my excitement for the series.

No I will not buy AC3 since apparently Im a whiner and a thief.
No, I won't be getting AC3, and the above quote is largely why. "Always on" drm doesn't help, either. Ubisoft makes good games, but they aren't worth the hassle to me.

Of course I will. I mean, I haven't gotten Revelations yet, but that's just a monetary problem, nothing more.

Meh. Whilst I liked AC2 at the time, I'd have much preferred it if Brotherhood and Revelations had never existed (apart from the multiplayer, which is awesome). Ubisoft have milked the whole thing, which is economically understandable but creatively stultifying.

If AC3 consists of a new, in-animus character, an interesting, compelling game world, and a story and character arc as genuinely pleasing as AC2's was (even if it jumped the shark a bit at the end) then I'll be buying it.

But PLEASE don't focus on Desmond. Ubisoft: no-one cares or ever will care about the modern-day stuff. Not when we get to explore time periods and locations which no game has ever explored before. You have a framing device which lets you explore the entire of human history. Why get stuck on the bland characters in the modern time?

You know what would be amazing? If Ubisoft went Timesplitters with it and gave us several different characters in different time periods, obviously in much smaller cities.

Yes, but only to finish the story, because it would annoy me to have played through this far and not find out how it ends. Frankly, the one game every year thing seems like a mistake to me. Once AC3 is done with, I won't be playing any further games they release, because the only one I truly loved was AC2, and with a yearly release schedule I don't think they'll be able to make as good a game again.
