what i mean is would you still play the new games of a series that you grew up with?
megaman,mario,zelda ect

many retro players have been so locked in to the past that the shun the the new games without playing them, usualy beacuase the old games were "that bad or that good" and sometimes (not allways) kill the chance for a new game when the tralers hit

Yes. I like the new Zelda games, but spirit tracks was kind of annoying. I have got Super Mario Galaxy 2. I didn't play Megaman as a child because fo the difficulty level, but I have got and did enjoy the ZX series. I like the cartoony-ness.

Well considering most games that have old faces are either A.( Games with recycled innovations of past glory or B.( desperately trying to find their way in the 3D era of gaming and not being very good at it. I'd have to say yes, I do still play most new 3D Mario games.

Every time a new main Mario games comes out it's like a holiday in the gaming world. Since Mario was the first exposure to gaming I have I owe it to him to try all of his main series games out. Galaxy was the most fun I've had with my Wii, and probably one of the only times I ever turned it on.

I do play the new Zelda games but I find them ridiculously easy when compared to games like Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past, etc.

Not anymore, as I sold my PS2 during one of my stupid phases. I'm still holding on to Okami, though, that shit will be valuable in 30 years.

EDIT: Misread it, thought we were talking about re-playing old games. Yeah, but most of my nostalgia games haven't had new games this generation...

If I like a game series, I'm not going to have a hard time liking the games of that series, old or new. I still love Zelda, I still really like Mario. I only just got an NES (My gaming life started with an N64) and when I replace that pin connector, I am going to get all the classics and play all the great series from the begginnig-Metroid, Castlevania, Probotector (Contra to the Americans), Kid Icarus, Ninja Gaiden, the works.

I'd tell Sonic '06 to go and burn in the deepest holes of hell if I hadn't poured so much time and attention into Sonic 2 as a kid.
Nostalgia could well be the only reason I liked Sonic Unleashed. Either way, I like Sonic Unleashed.

I play most of the new Pokemon games (I loved the reboot of Gold/Silver). I enjoy them, but I still go back and play the others from when there were only 151 pokemon and not a million iterations of the same Pokemon.

No I leave them alone. What I had with those games when I was younger was something. I like to let it rest on a good note then playing the series until I hate it. Unless I really believe that this new game will stand out.
