Do you purchase games themes/picture packs from Xbox Live ?

I earn my gamerpictures. Just got the N7 picture from Mass Effect and it's worth it.
I would not spend money on them though, same for themes. There are plenty of free and awesome themes and gamerpics.

How do you earn them? Is it attached to the DLC achievements or something?

The come with earning certain achievements or something similar. If you beat Mass Effect on Hardcore you get an achievement and a Saren pic, and on Insanity you get the N7. This isn't the only game to do this. If I recall, CoD:World at War gave you a Reznov picture for getting 10th prestige.

Ahh, I thought it might have been connected to the new avatar awards thing.

OP just sounds like theyre trying to hate on 360...

That point aside, I buy it because I like to change things up all the time. Just like on PC, I change my wallpapers/themes often because I hate it when something stays exactly the same for too long. I like a little background change every now and then. I don't really care about the price - I'm not necessarily hurting for cash.

I don't want to play PC because I don't understand half of the requirments and i'm happy with my xBOx.

All you had to say was "I hate xbox because spending money is horrible!"...would have saved time.

I download the free ones. The only thing on Xbox Live that I buy is stuff that makes my games more fun.

This. The free Arkham Asylum theme is pretty badass.

Too bad it isn't a premium theme.

And I have bought a couple when I was bored and had the 80 points sitting there collecting E-dust. I just earn most of mine by getting them with games. I have amassed quite a collection of free gamerpics.

I've only ever bought the Alan Wake premium theme, and my brother bought the Call of Duty Nazi Zombie premium theme. That's it really.

...I just find it funny that people on my friends list are, because of the theme, standing in front of gas stations...
