Ah... I really only the stuff I really like. Sometimes I read a psycho's journal just to see how it's going for him (dungeons on skyrim). I just read the Daedra and Shelidor related books, I find them the most amusing and interesting.

The Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect games and Dynasty Warriors - i enjoy all that extra history and back history. Adds more to the games.

When I have nothing better to do, I do read bits and pieces of the "lore" found in some RPG's like Skyrim or Oblivion. WoW especially has some good bits of game lore beyond the quest text that helps me understand the underpinnings of the societies in-game. I do enjoy those bits, but I don't make a huge habit of it.

I think I've read more books in Skyrim then in real life.... *checks* 432 books... I suppose yes I have. And the majority I read in full |3

The Dragon Age 1 Codex I have read front to back. Generally entertaining really.
Though, the "books" in Skyrim are generally 3-20 pages long so I'm not sure if they count as "books".

OT: I read something if it's interesting, I guess.

I read only the primary parts of Mass Effect's codex because of the Codex guy and his goddamn wonderful voice. Seriously, I'd listen to that guy read a shopping list.
Hah, I know what you mean there, honestly I often thought about why my teachers so often desperately tried (and failed) to make the classes interesting instead of just trying to do something like that.

Oh yes I do. I also watch the little special features if I can. Only after I beat the game though, to avoid spoilers.

Some of the characters in Resistance 2 are pretty fleshed out by those bios.

i will read the shorter books in Oblivion/Skyrim.
tis only fair on the poor sods who wrote them.

plus, my Skyrim main has driven me into some freaky-ass day/night cycle, and i don't adventure after dark, and i dont nappington until midnight.
so i tend to sit up either chopping wood, or getting pished oot ma skull wi' the Battle-Borns. i might have a gander at some books, seeing as i live in a fucking inn and have to listen to some poncy milk-drinker all night.

If it's worth it. I will read if they have a deeper meaning, as in the books of The Elder Scrolls and Deus Ex. Ingame codexes, sometimes. It's good to read about the general details when I'm curious about various aspects of the game world. Quality varies though...

Almost never. The games lore has to be particularly intriguing for me to take the time.

I'll read the character bios and details for Arkham Asylum because I've got an interest in many of those villains I've never seen or heard of such as Zsasz.

I found myself myself reading all the codex entries in Dragon Age: Origins as the game completely immersed me and I wanted to learn more. However, I've never done the same in Mass Effect games, Fallout games or Elder Scrolls.

Yup, I read a lot in-game. It makes the world a lot richer, and more immersive for me. Besides, some of the stuff is absolutely brilliant, like that book "The Red Kitchen" in Skyrim (Not going to spoil it for anyone.), if you've played Oblivion. And I have to say, I probably wouldn't have liked the ME's half as much if I hadn't found out all that pointless yet fascinating info from the Codex.

I DO also read a lot in the real world. I was actually bullied in school over that, so I guess you could say I read TOO MUCH in the real world.

Yep, I always read all of the journal entries in games like Baldur's Gate or The Witcher 2.

I read everything.

EVERYTHING.
I know that feeling, character and location descriptions in Assassin's Creed, codex entries in Mass Effect 1 and 2.

I sit down to play a game and two hours later wonder why I havn't really played anything!

I read the codex and bestiary on any game that has one but I dont read Elder Scrolls books. I also read quest descriptions for MMO's it makes killing 20 boars slightly less boring when know the reason why I'm doing it.

I read quest text and quest-related books and notes, but most other books I'll only flip through if I really feel the need or the title sounds especially interesting. While I'm playing Skyrim, or any game, I'd rather be out killing, exploring and looting.

When I feel like reading, I'll just grab my Kindle or something off the top of my real stack of books right here next to me.

Usually I read those that I find more interesting. Say, about 20-40 percent of the readable content, depending on the game(say 20 in mass effect and 40 in skyrim)
