I think I've read more books in Skyrim then in real life.... *checks* 432 books... I suppose yes I have. And the majority I read in full |3

The Dragon Age 1 Codex I have read front to back. Generally entertaining really.
Though, the "books" in Skyrim are generally 3-20 pages long so I'm not sure if they count as "books".

OT: I read something if it's interesting, I guess.
Well true that. But a book of 80 pages is still called a book. A short novel. While let's say the Lord of the Rings Trillogy feature (what was it exactly again?) 800+ pages per book, but still count as 1.
Besides, I think I didn't read -that- much books anyway ;)

Normally i won't 'cause i feel like most of it is just unnecessary things that's only there for those particularily interested. I mean, unless they point you to read something then they shouldn't put crucial pieces of information in something you'll have the option to just flip through in a couple seconds ('cause a lot of people will do just that)

I remember playing through Resident Evil 4 recently... Don't think i read through a single one of those files i found.

I try to. But skyrim is kinda a pain. Cant find copies of the wolf queen 2,5, and 7. But the best book of all time in my opion was troll slaying. If you hate trolls, this book will just be the best damn thing to put on a shelf. The moment i saw chp. 1 I saw a troll!!!! i just knew it was gonnna be awesome.

I read quest related stuff, I tend to skip over the rest. If I wanted to read, I have shelves full of REAL books and a kindle.
Someone should make an e-book of all the flavor text in Oblivion and Skyrim. Then I could read it while commuting or something, when it doesn't interfere with my actual game playing time.

Usually, in Skyrim, I only read books if they somewho relate to the main plot. Like stuff about the Thalmar, Ulfric, the Dragonborn.

Stuff like say, the codex entries in Mass Effect, I do find myself reading for quite a bit. So much interesting lore within that universe.

Depends really. I do read lores and tutorials but when it come to quest givers I may or may not read it. It depend how long it is written, the summary of the objectives and size of the texts.

I read everything, and I mean EVERYTHING.

If they took the time to write it all out and put it in the game in the hopes that someone will care enough to read it then I don't see why not.

usually, yes. in the Metroid Prime Trilogy i read all the data entries, Lore etc. I find it interesting to get details like that, helps make me understand what's going on in the game

I read only the primary parts of Mass Effect's codex because of the Codex guy and his goddamn wonderful voice. Seriously, I'd listen to that guy read a shopping list.

Audiobooks in games? Do we have that concept?
That narrator got me to read the entire codex on both games, I just couldn´t get enough of his voice.

I read in-game only if I get really bored. Like after I've beaten Arkham Asylum/City 3 times, I might open up a few character bios.

In Skyrim? I have not read one book. You kidding me? There are far more awesome things that need doing to waste my time reading. Maybe once I've completed everything in my quest log and become head of every organization and have maxed out stats and have purchased and fully upgraded every house, THEN I'll relax and read a book. Maybe.

Not really. I skim on occasion. But mostly I ignore things like the Codex/Journal in ME and DA games, and the books in Skyrim.

I am tortured by the books in Skyrim.
I really want to read them, I have a collection of titles that sound like interesting reads. I'll even glance through the first few pages of each one to get a preview before putting it back on the shelf.
But I'll never read them because if I'm on Skyrim, I'm in Skyrim.
It's weird, I feel like I'm wasting my time being in this game world and just reading books.
But I really want to read these damn books, and they don't take that long to read anyway.
(Yes, I know about that iphone/nook app, I'd totally be on that, but I don't have either)

I read everything. I spent at least half an hour trying to decipher the Tenets in the Dark Brotherhood hideout, and the plaques in Windhelm.

I generally read instructions (*gasp* well I'm an engineer so I can get away with it without losing MAN points), quest objectives, generally most of the fluff so that I can find out why I would do certain things (and usually drop a quest or two that I think is a bit too OOC).

I read everything in the Mass Effect games as it came in. Because I'm a sci-fi nut and I love reading all the explanations of technology and alien races and stuff.

Skyrim, well, it takes long enough to get to different areas and finish dungeons, so I just end up putting most of the books into my house in Whiterun, to read some later when I feel like it.

I've also got a big backlog of stuff to read in Dragon Age: Origins.
