mostly horror (especially King) though i do enjoy sci-fi fantasy, especially when it doesn't take it's self too serious. Terry Pratchet's books are great for this. I'm also a big Gaimen fan.
Yeeeah, I checked out the first one... vowed never to read the others. Tripe.Machiavellian007 said:... twwiiiiillliiiigghhhtt?
*shudders* It brings back memories of the week I wasted reading that boring series.
Omg, yea I read part of Marilyn Manson's biograhy. His childhood was messed up huh. *cringe*Klarinette said:First-person, realistic stories, not necessarily true stories. Some of my favourites include Far From Shore (one of my favourite books ever), A Clockwork Orange, 1984, and Fifth Business. They're all non-fiction, but they aren't fantasy or unrealistic.
I pick up actual biographies once in a while, especially of the auto- variety. Marilyn Manson's was really something else. Hated the guy before, somewhat respected him after.
You forgot manipulation of people and outwitting them, that is one thing that used to be popular with the original style vampires.NoblePhilistineFox said:your primary functions are to kill, eat, sleep, and rape, you have been given the tools to do these things for an eternity.

I believe the same person who wrote the Artemis Fowl series has written a sequel to the universally beloved by geeks (Myself extremely included) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.Cakekey said:I loved the Artemis Fowl series, that nice mix of fantasy and good ol' corporate intrigue, with some nice characters, who develop a whole lot through the series.
