Simple as can be. Would you recommend whatever movie you last you have seen to your fellow Escapists?

I recommend "Scent of a Woman," featuring Al Pacino and the guy who played Robin in Batman Forever to anyone in the mood for drama. I am not a movie buff and I often fail to see underlying themes in movies and lack much insight compared to others who frequent Escapist. That being said, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie and I don't know how it slipped under my radar.

I liked Al Pacino in Scarface, but man oh man do I enjoy him as more as a gruff, significantly older and blinder sergeant than a drug lord.

OT: Quickly capping this whole thread, the two most recommended movies are Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and "Paul". On the other hand, not many people want to watch Tron Legacy again...

The Big Sleep with Humphrey Bogart. I watched that like two weeks ago. I'd recommend it. The book really a lot better, though.

Last movie I watched was Hall Pass tonight.
Yes, I would recommend it if you like those types of comedy films.

You told me that the next time you had the time to watch a movie, you would watch Just Peck.

Have you done so yet?

If not, I demand you do. Now! :p

First, I never realised until now that Robin was in that movie.

Second, that movie's awesome, especially the epic speech Al Pacino gives.

Thirdly, the last movie I saw was The Count of Monte Cristo, starring Jim Caviezel and Guy Pierce. I definitely recommend it, it's frigging excellent.

If you are planning on watching it on DVD, you will have to import it.

It has not had Region 1 distribution as of yet.

And that is all I will say about that.

Cemetary Junction, it was a decent comedy set in the 70's, short at 90min, funny small appearances of Ricky Gervais, doesn't know whether it wants to be black comedy at points. Cliched ending for main character, relatively poignant one for lancer character. Pretty funny part revolving around use of the c-word.

Overall decent movie, wouldn't buy for full price or see at cinema, but would advise renting or buying when on sale.

The last movie I watched was *Deep breath*

The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford.

And yes, I'd definitely recommend it, if only because I have a friend who is a bit of a Brad Pitt fangirl and would be displeased if I didn't.

Casey Affleck also gives a very good performance.

Pacinos' ending speech was a great way to finish that film and still holds true in our system today (in a broad sense). Didn't know the director also made Beverly Hills Cop and other films.

Thanks for your recommendation. It's friday night and I want to milk Netflix for all its' worth.

Pitch Black, if you haven't seen it, your missing out.
Do you also recommend the followup movie (or was it a prequel?) to that movie that was based around Vin Diesel? Never picked it up since it didn't contain the whole "Alien" feel.

Aww no harm in trying to support a series that you love.

Edit: and it worked for Futurama and Family Guy so it's not entirely in the realm of impossibility.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Don't watch that chronicles of Riddick shit, its pure dribble. I wish I didn't, or that animated Riddick. Just stick with Pitch Black.
