Do you remember the first time you got your very first console?

Sega megadrive; I got it as a loan from someone who didn't use it anymore. I was around 5 or 6 I guess? First console I actually bought was a NES in a school sale for 20 pounds with about half a dozen games.

Games for the Megadrive were Sonic the hedgehog, Streets of rage, Goldenaxe, Ecco the dolphin, I think I had Prince of persia too but I found it stupidly hard... For the NES I had Mario bros/Duckhunt, Smash Tv, Dragon's lair[footnote]Singularly, the worst game I've ever played. Ever. Yes, worse than Superman 64.[/footnote] Not much have those have aged well, aside from Mario and Sonic I guess.

I was 11. I had saved up my allowance and decided to buy a Gamecube. The game I got with it was Dragon Ball Z Budokai. I was so freaking excited. I know it's not the greatest Gcube game out there but it was my first. Playing that console now would give me a wash of nostalgia and I still own some Gamecube games for memory sake. I know I was excited. Too excited maybe. Over 11 years my parents either wouldn't buy me one or I couldn't afford it. I always had to go to a friends house and play their system whatever it was. I can't remember how many hours I stuck into that black little box. I just know they were good ones.
