Do you scrap posts a lot?

I spent about an hour and a half today writing posts that I simply scrapped because they were stupid.
Most of the time when I write long and detailed posts, I'm unhappy with them and simply go "Fuck it" and replace it with a sentence or two.
And usually, those sentences encapsulate the entire 9000 word essay I were writing before that, too.

So yeah, how often do you murder and/or abandon your textual brainchildren?

Sometimes. I usually write a lot, realise I sound either stupid, ignorant, or a total prick, delete the post and reflect.

I scrap them if they are not important and I'm required to use the captcha thing as I don't care to refresh it several times to find something readable. The fact I don't have to do it now is the only reason I'll hit "post".

I do that all the time. It's to stop me posting a rant. Type it out, get it out of my system, scrap it and carry on.

All the time. A lot of the time I'll go to reply, and then by the time I've finished replying I realise I straight up can't be bothered to get involved in the discussion so I ditch what I just wrote.

More often than not, really.

I'll have a paragraph or two down, then think to myself "...Nobody cares about this shit, I'm just rambling." and scrap it.

All the time.

I'll go into a thread, knowing what I want to say and thinking it is a valid point or whatever, and I'll either completely forget it, not know how to word it properly, or just say to myself, "this is stupid...".

All the damn time. Usually I think I have a good idea of what I'm going to say, but when I look at it on my screen, I think to myself, "Psh, this is just dumb."

Sometimes, when they don't need to be said. Like when loads of other people have said exactly the same thing or when I've forgotten what the point I was making was.

Yep, quite a lot actually, mostly in the Religion & Politics forum. I'll write out a heated response to something, and then decide I just don't want to get into it.

Mostly this... except I feel because I haven't got half of what I have down, I sound stupid... so I can't bothered any more.

I only scrap them when I realize I'm about to admit to something that I'd rather not let everyone know about. Other than that, I always post.

I scrap about 2/3 of what I write, usually because I can't say it in a way that someone else could understand without reading massive quantities of text.

I don't usually scrap them, but I will edit the shit out of them after I've posted them.

All the time. A lot of the time I won't even comment, I'll just leave the page because what I'm saying isn't making sense.

Yep, happens to me quite frequently.

Generally, I only post when I feel like I have something important (or witty) to add. Often while in the middle of composing a post, I'll stop and ask myself "is it really worth the time and effort to post this?" If my answer is "no," then I'll scrap it.
