I used to but I'd typically only get about 10% of what I paid for them. It was worth it when I was a kid and couldn't really afford to buy new games, but now I like to collect. A lot.

I love staring at my collection.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I have a good sized collection of old games but unless the game comes with something good like a real instruction booklet or something then I tend to trade it in. Or at least I used to, now I tend to just get pc games.

Yes, I cycle through games on a constant basis. They are objects of no real value to me. It is the game I was interested in playing. The memories are not attached to the game itself. They exist within my head.

When I get rid of games, I do not have a profit motivation. Very few of the games I like playing do not hold onto value at all. My motivation is simply to get rid of the game and that's it. I have no reasonable expectation to get close to 60 dollars for a game back.

I used to keep them all, but then I realized "...why?" half of these of beaten, some of these I will never bother finishing, and in some very rare cases I'll find a game that I never even played once...

I started selling them to a used media store called 2nd&Charles that opened nearby for store credit (they give a lot fairer prices than a place like GameStop, and I can use the credit to buy a lot more things like games, movies, books, and anything else in the store)

Hell, with all the books and games I traded in, I got myself a 3DS, and lots of other stuff.

Like 95% of all my games are on steam, and I can't sell those. I guess I hoard my games then, such as it is. If there was a way to resell digital games, I might do that.

Hardly ever sell them I mean if someone offered me a decent price for one I know I will never play again I would sell it but if you take them to a shop you get bugger all for them so I dont bother. Also if I lose/sell or even loan a game to someone odds are I will get a hankering to play it again and so usually just go out and buy it again asap sorta defeating the point of selling it.

Only those I have no interest in ever playing again. But I sometimes wind up wanting to play them again months later which kinda sucks. Still got somewhere around 70 games altogether, mostly on the 360 and PS2.

I only buy the games I intend to keep.
And anything I'd sell isn't worth giving away.

Like, I have Dynasty Warriors 4, 5 and 6. I could sell 4 and 5 because I'd never really play them again, but I would make like $2. I'd rather just have them.

I only sell my games when I know I won't enjoy them anymore or don't think I will keep playing them. Last year I sold 2 of the like 25 games I bought new, so not very often.

The games I buy I expect to keep. I personally don't like selling them off, can't explain any reasoning why, I just don't.

I used to when i still had a ps1, now there is just no way to do that since i game on the PC, but if Steam made such an option available i would sell most of my library in a heartbeat.

I sell them if theyre rubbish, like Soul Caliur 4. I don't care how much jiggle physics it has why the fuck did you butcher the story mode and remove takes of souls.
But generally I find that I come back to old gems, the only games that I don't find myself coming back to is prequels, I've been spiked by the second ones improvements to game gameplay to look back. Seeing as how a trade in would probably get me 7 bucks of store credit and games in Oz cost 100, I figured just fuck it, it isn't worth trading them in, but I wouldn't say I make 20 purchases every year, 7 If I'm being overzelous.

Not exactly rich, so I tend to sell games, even ones that I really like, granted that I am done playing with them, to get the next game I want. I haven't sold any recently though.

After some time had past and I began to regret selling certain games I now sell games with extreme caution. I'll never sell my copy of Persona 4, Time Splitters Future Perfect, Rule of Rose, and Okami.

Why would you say it's a pointless hobby?
Seconded. Aren't all hobbies by definition pointless? It's a hobby, not a neccessity of life.

And I have a nice collection but there are ones I buy wanting to play them briefly and then sell them. Games that seem fun to play a bit but don't need eating up my shelf space.

Only games I get bored of or hate. (I don't really bother to trade in these days...)

*shakes fist at Fable 3*

Good riddance to that crap! HA!
