There's not. I've had to shave moustache-area since I was 13, so I know how you feel. The other parts did come until 16 or 17 though.
Lucky you. With me, it was the other way around...

Anyhoo, I only shave my facial hair, and only very sporadic. Probably less than once a month. I don't like the feel or look of my face without hair; it looks like I'm chinless. Besides, I kind of like rugged look in the face. With it, they pay less attention to my manboobs and beer belly.

Here we have a classic case of:

OMG A GURL syndrome.

This harmless condition affects approximately 60-70% of male geeks, and is generally directed towards females of the species who are aesthetically appealing to said geeks.

There are occasions however when the patient has showed symptoms of OMG A GURL syndrome when no visual stimulus has been presented, the thought of actual verbal communication with the female being enough to send the patient into fits of testoscerone fuelled awkward blurting of compliments.
You are such a cynic.

Let them publicly flirt. I find it endearing.

I used to shave fairly often, well at the "long-stubble" phase but recently I decided to just let it grow out. It looks pretty good although my girlfriend enjoys yanking individual hairs out of my jawline which hurt like hell.

Once in a drinking game for a punishment I had to shave an armpit...dry...with a blunt-ish razor...it stung quite a bit and was possibly the itchiest thing ever when it started growing back.

yes i do. at least once a week. Will leave it up to your imagination on where, but it is NOT my face. I do however LOVE when my boyfriend does NOT shave his face.....mmmmm scruffiness <3
Do you have backhair?

Kidding!

Yeah, I shave, of course. I've been considering growing something, but... I dunno. I'm not sure if it would look good on me or if I'd just look like MORE of a hippy.
well if you wanna go technical i have very fine blond hairs on my lower back but they just make my skin softer :)

It wasn't all that cynical... just gentle poking of fun. After all, being on this website is indicative of the fact that I myself am a geek and therefore included in the legions of men who sometimes come down with OMG A GURL syndrome. (though I am happily taken nowadays so don't really get it anymore)

I'm almost obsessive when it comes to shaving. If it's longer than a milimetre, I have to trim it.

On a not completely unrelated note, I'm still banned from public beaches.

Correct but still false analysis.
That what it was meant to sound like, anyway ;) As stated in my follow-up post, it just that you can't really excuse actually complimenting a girl/women on forums without being labelled a desperate geek. So without even trying to sound sincere, I just went for the full-out geek, knowing that my post was awkward and then being able to explain myself in the follow-up. I see many girls on forums, but few that I thank genuinely look really nice, so I knew the post would be awkward regardless of how I put it. Also, when I feel compelled to compliment someone, I just do indeed toss the compliment.

And I see I care way to much for your post there, but it's not so much that I feel affected by it, as it is that I want people reading to understand that that is indeed not applicable in this case.
Cheer up Charlie, I never said you were desperate!

Don't take the post seriously, it was just a joke I think most of us in these parts can relate to.

Anyway, it's hard for a lot of guys to compliment a good looking woman ANYWHERE without being labelled a desperate geek so props to you for having the balls to do it regardless.

Edit: Just saw your edit and I seem to have offended you. Really, it was just a little poke at gamer geeks in general, myself included.

When I say 'geek' I mean it as a compliment.

i'm quite sure you're mistaken. /:
one compliment sent & received doesn't constitute as flirting.
that's simply being courteous & kindly where i'm from.

I always think exactly the same thing, to be honest.
I think we should stop talking about that, though, since it may offend some people, and might cause someone not to post here because of that very offending. No point in that.
oh crap, didn't even think about that.
seemed unthinkable to me. /:

well apologies to those i may have offended.

Hmmm, ok then. If mindless violence fails to make him cry then we'll go the psychological abuse route.

I'm now going go bully Timmy Nuesbaum in preparation.

I managed to cut myself with an electric razor so I decided to grow a beard to be on the safe side.

hrm. I shave my those portions of my face not covered by beard twice a week, and I trim the beard at least once a week.

However, I will use this opportunity to evangalize:

Men and women: please please PLEASE consider shaving or at least trimming the hair in what my dearest and I call 'the critical areas' regularly. (The areas we are speaking of should be obvious.)

The bottom line is: Less hair equals less sweat equals less B.O.

Learn it, know it, live it. Trust me, you (AND your partner) will be happier.
Less hair does not mean less sweat, and sweat isn't even what makes the smell. Sweat itself is pretty odorless, it's the bacteria on your body that make the smell. And while there are differences between individuals, shaving your hair may increase the amount of body odor. Hair sucks up some of the moisture needed by the bacteria to multiply and make more smell on the surface of your skin.
