do you still play original games?

still play the first half life?

still play the first red faction?

cause i tend to find, when a sequel of a game comes out, the older game just turns into a collection, and not a game, the only thing that brings me back is when i wanna complete all the games again for achievements and such

so my question is, do you still play these games? and if you do, which have you been on recently?

Not often, I guess. I used to love running vanilla WoW content (Molten Core, Onyxia, etc) when both expansion packs were already released, just for nostalgia's sake. That's more than a year ago though, but I guess it counts.

I also thought I'd still be playing the original L4D even after I got L4D2, but I didn't. Seems that the new gore and deliciously satisfying melee weapons don't want me to turn back. It's just such a fantastic stress reliever, even more satisfying than the original.

But it's not that I don't enjoy the originals anymore, it's just that with the recent (massive) influx of new titles, I simply lack the time for them.

I only have my iPod Touch, Wii Shop Channel, and Emulators to play the classics. I do, but not a lot of them, but I have played the original Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, most Half-Life games, Crash Bandicoot, and Mario.

Since the first Halo is the only one I own, I do play it sometimes.
I played the first Half Life before I tried the second.

I do play a lot of the originals, I still have the first Prince of Persia, back when it was 2D.

Ironically yesturday i played Red Faction again, a few months ago i played Halo

and yea i play the first Quake sometimes, and i still play Transport Tycoon once in a while

I play older versions of Unreal Tournament more than i play UT3. Same can be said for Quake and Battlefield.

I still play COD 2 as it was soo much better than all CODs since. Anyone who disagrees is either an idiot or better have a very logical reason that isn't "the graphics are worse"

Firstly, I'm a grammar Nazi, so sorry, but it's 'original', not 'origonal'.

But anyway, I still play Super Smash Bros Melee and Morrowind - I think it's because you become so accustomed to the old layout that you just prefer the nostalgia trip of the prequels.

Also, with the indirect sequels like Morrowind, it is a completely different game, with completely diffenrent challenges to face.

I play original games, yeah. HL1 is an example, among others.

Ok before this thread gets derailed into a grammar thread, I hardly play originals because usually the sequels are much better. When BioShock 2 comes out then I'll still play originals because I love the first one so much.
