Do you still read instruction booklets?

I still have a quick flick through them, mostly to check out the controls and any other useful bits of information it may have, but also to see if there's anything interesting in it such as a joke or quote written down the bottom of a page. Also, it helps when I buy a multiplayer game for playing against my mates as I know the controls and other little details that give me an edge.

Oh yes the smell. There is no smell more pleasing to me than opening up a brand new game. I usually sniff the disc itself while its still in the case then run my fingers through the instruction manual so the smell goes straight to my nose.
That sounds rather creepy. Awesome, but creepy. Like a crack addict getting his next fix.

.....

You should track down a copy of Gran Turismo 2 if you don't have it and scratch the top of the disc before sniffing it. Mmmmm, smells like burnt rubber.

The only time I ever read them is if they have a nice lil story blurb on it Or they look coool. But the one sure fire reason I will look at a booklet is for fighting games...and upon reflection that's useless cause most of the games leave all the good shit out of it and never tell you and you find by accident and can never duplicate EVER!

i FEEL your pain my friend. Street fighter 4 is guilty of letting you in by going HAVE FUN as the computer kicks eight tons of poo out of your corpse with awesome moves of epicness but you can never figure out yourself. UGH

I only read the instructions if I'm having trouble with a game, or if I have nothing else to do. Monster hunter tri, for example, has no combat tutorials, and few in anything else, so I did read that one.

Yes but only cause there are sometimes funny cartoons in them. I also don't read them BEFORE I play a game as I am a Manly Nerd and don't need help figuring out your petty game.

Not really. Games barely put anything interesting in those game booklets anymore. :(

Given most games give an in-game tutorial these days I tend not too, but if i got some spare time I may leaf through them, also with PSX games and Some PS2 games they didn't really so I do on them when I can as I Have to get those 2nd hand sometimes I end up with No manuals or ones in Lingo's I cannot read xD

When I was little I'd be stuck in the instruction manual until my parents took me home from shopping, cause it was the closest I'd get to playing it while waiting for the shopping trip to end.

Nowadays I'll read them on the train home if I can be bothered, if not I'll just facebook on my phone [oh lord ;-;]

I look over it, but not much more than that.
The only one I've read properly lately was Fallout, because I've heard you'll get stuck if you aren't careful.
