I still read Penny Arcade, still enjoy that.

I also like to re read 8 bit Theater every now and then, I really enjoy that comic, especially Black Mage.

Another one is JL8 which is about the characters of the Justice League as little kids, I find that really funny.
Oh wow, I remember JL8. Ma and Pa Kent are the sweetest couple ever.

I tend to get addicted to webcomics, then completely forget about them once I get to the latest issue.

I only really follow Critical Miss these days, stopped reading Erin Dies Alone after my internet was infested by viruses and the Escapist refused to let me in.

I think I'll get back into JL8 though, loved that thing.

I have quite a few that I enjoyed. Problem is, the good ones end or go on eternal hiatus. 8-Bit Theatre, Brawl in the Family, Last Days of Foxhound, Supereffective...

I liked To Defeat Them All (being a webcomic made out of a blind run of the Mega Man games), but it's been on an unprecedented year's hiatus by now. Not sure if it'll ever come back. I liked The Noob for a while but it feels like the last 50 or so strips have been mocking paid content in MMORPGs and nothing else.

XKCD, Erin Dies Alone and Critical Miss are the only ones I'll go out of my way to read.

There are a couple on Twitter I like too, but I don't seek them out. Baby Sheep Comics, Heck If I Know Comics.
EDA has really lost me now, it started promising but has devolved into stretching out the same jokes about well known games 20 times longer than they need to be ("Hey Cloud is an emo longer, isn't that funny?".

I keep meaning to go back to XKCD as it's been a while so I've got a good few to catch up on, Saturday morning breakfast cereal is still pretty good and I will go see ctrl-alt-del purely for the morbid curiosity every so often.
I like it because I really liked the serious arc they did in Critical Miss, and I still believe Grey's got some ability in him beyond just humor. I'm just waiting for shit to get serious, yo.

I've got quite a few that I like to read.

Nerf This is alright. The comedy can be repetitive at times, as the writer's main source of humor is manly stuff, moustaches, sex jokes, bears, and whatnot. The art is fantastic, though. At least it was until he changed the art style to make it easier for him to draw, even though he hasn't changed his update schedule since.

Another comic he does, which he hasn't updated since September of 2014, despite saying that he would update more frequently, is called Scout Crossing. While the early strips have little to no real direction, and even some lame as hell jokes, the writing later on is solid enough and the fight scenes are pretty badass.

Cyanide and Happiness is one of my favorite comic strips that I check everyday. Love its sense of humor.

EDA and Critical Miss, obviously. Both are pretty good, although I like Critical Miss more, as the first arc of EDA was generic in various aspects and I don't know where it's going now, so I'm looking forward to it.

Let's Speak English is one that I find quite enjoyable and I check back every once in a while. It's cute and funny, and I appreciate slice of life stuff on occasion.

VG Cats I want to update more. I really do. It can be funny. But the artist updates once a month, which is really stupid.

Gamercat is another slice of life web comic that I read that I find fun. It's funny, well drawn, and I appreciate cats doing things.

Prequel is one of the best ones that I've seen, if only because the main character is a really well written one in that she is flawed as hell. Alcoholic, sexual deviant, and a gullible klutz, she is down on herself all the time and I can relate to that like nobody's business. That's not to say that the rest of the comic isn't really good either. It's got some interactive stuff to it, so if you don't like those, you can skip them. Mostly it's just action scenes demonstrating her doing stuff and NOT messing up for once. Which happens, like, three times in the entire comic. Anyways, it's really good and I recommend it.

Are we just talking web comics?

Manly guys doing manly things, or something like that. I stumbled across it. Seeing weird takes on burly dudes from videogames is cool.

Penny Arcade. I generally like it. Art style, and topical.

Girl Genius. I like the art style, and the writing, the setting, etc. Fantastic web comic i whole heartedly recommend.

There's like a webpage that has a ton of comics all on one page that comes out every sunday which is handy, like Gamer Cats, Nerf Now, and such.

Critical Miss, and Erin Dies alone, of course.

Ah, I feel like there's more, but I don't recall.

But I'll throw in comic books, too, since i buy some digital. Secret Six, Harley Quinn's Little Black Book, Poison Ivy, Deadpool. At least for now. I love a great anti-hero, or anti-villain, and there's bonus points if they're underdogs, like the Secret Six.

None on a weekly basis. I'll go through a binge of Cyanide and Happiness every now an then, but other than the occasional XKCD, I don't follow any web comics. It's not like I've looked at a bunch and decided I didn't like them though, they've just never really interested me. The only other web comics that I even notice are the ones on this site, both of which I've tried to read some of.

That would've been great, but this switching between the stale humour and the serious parts is not just jarring but cheapening the serious backdrop to the series. We'reover 100 episodes in and what have we to show for it? I feel the real highligt was that climax of the gunny ark about freedom of choice but on the whole I don't feel like Erin is a person who's depressed or suffering, just another character who's gonna coast through these situations doing what she wants with no regard for her imaginary friends.

I hope I'm wrong here, but from what I've seen so far, Erin, as a character, is no better than the things the comic satirises.

Quite a number, actually... Let's see:
- Gunnerkrig Court
- Two Kinds
- Yosh! (Though this one I feel has started to drag a little. Once it started getting into demon worlds and stuff, I kinda stopped caring)
- The Rock Cocks (Which is basically softcore porn with a struggling band plot. Good stuff~ Very nice art)
- Las Lindas
- Always Raining Here
- Critical Miss
- EDA
- Used to read Concession until it ended. Quite liked the setting, though things got a bit... weird near the end. Like, really weird. Didn't suit the tone at the start in the least. Fucked up stuff happens. It's spooky. People die. It was a comedy at first ;3;

That about sums it up. You can already tell my tastes a bit with some of these choices, but I find a lot of these comics quite engaging. I rather like a lot of the fantasy settings over real world stuff. Granted, I know there's 100's of other fantasy webcomics, but I really need to not add more to my list

Nope. I followed a number of them in my teens and early 20's (Penny Arcade, PvP, VGCats), but I kind of lost interest.

I was an avid fan of Slackerz while it lasted. That was the shit. I visit the site once in a blue moon to read a few strips for nostalgia's sake.

Yeap, I've been doing it since we've finally got a decent constant internet connection almost a decade ago. A lot of them are crap or eventually turn into crap but a lot are also decent time wasters. A selection of what I read:

-Bugmartini; A semi-surreal gag a day short comics that has a sense of humour similar to mine except actually delivered well. Very easy to binge on.
-8Bit Theatre; Possibly my most favourite webcomic. Very dark comedy with very unlikeable but still interesting to follow characters that is fucking hilarious. The artstyle and humour solidifies by the 100th strip and if you can tolerate up till then, keep going to see if it's your thing.
-Cucumber Quest; I'll be honest, I didn't immediately go into this because I was pissed the author wasn't gonna finish her persona comic but I'm glad I did. Very nice characters, sense of humour, very pretty and the story is not too shabby either.
-Problem Sleuth; from the author of Homestuck comes another silly-ly epic romp that is not as up it's arse and confusing as the latter and is not as well known enough to have a creepy fandom. It's also a lot shorter so give it a try.
-Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal; Daily Science silliness. Sometimes a bit preachy especially with regards to religion but if you want some fun comics that flit between silly and bleak in an instant, give it a read.
-Last Days of Foxhound; "Prequel" comic to Metal Gear Solid 1. Very fun, gets you to really love it's characters. Just get used to the Early internet level of artstyle and stay for a nice character comedy set in the metal gear universe.

i do read a few. used to follow more than i currently do, but either they ended, stopped updating, or i lost interest. used to read Homestuck, used to actually keep up with Awkward Zombie, etc...

the ones i currently read:

Sfeer Theory - interesting premise, interesting characters, and stunning art.

Paranatural - genuinely funny, fun characters, lots of ghosts.

Not Drunk Enough - by an artist i've followed for some time, whose work i genuinely love.

Sakana - it's about a bunch o nerds who work at a fish stall in a Japanese market (and their friends). again, awesome art, and super lovable characters.

Daughter of the Lilies - cool art, interesting story, likable characters.

Mare Internum - science, mars, SYMBOLISM, spectacular art. smart and thoughtful.

The Meek - same author as the above comic, been running somewhat longer. cool setting and interesting characters. has some genuinely emotional moments.

The only one I still make an effort to keep up with is Order of the Stick [http://www.giantitp.com/Comics.html], a long-running, well-told, and surprisingly cohesive story set in the Dungeons & Dragons world, with a great sense of humour.

Got better as it went on; the early ones look quite basic now, but that's much the same for a lot of others, too.

From time to time I also check Nedroid [http://nedroid.com/]. And, if it goes back to the pure webcomic format (it peppers it with dialogue pages now, which I don't have the patience for), I'll pick up Erfworld [http://www.erfworld.com/] again.

I used to read several (XKCD, Brawl in the Family, and one other one that I forget)

Then, I kinda stopped checking on XKCD, and brawl in the family ended (I'm still kinda sad. :( )

Now, the only one I follow is TheGamerCat. It's just too freakin' adorable and funny. XD

I remember a time where web comics were my obsession. The more the better. I used to be a huge fan of Ctrl-Alt-Del before...things happened, and Penny Arcade. I never got into Homestuck however, I didn't have the time or the patience to go through what I believed to be a mountain of pages and "interactive" bits. I used to be big into 8-bit theater as well. Then one day I just kinda stopped. I'm not sure if reader fatigue set in or if I had become too invested in certain series and then found out too much about the people behind the comics *cough*Buckley*cough* but I just stopped checking for updates.

So I guess the question I have for anyone out there is: do/did you read web comics and if so what were they and drew you to them? Any recommendations outside of the more popular stuff like Penny Arcade or Homestuck?

For instance: I'll occasionally check out awkwardzombie's comics, mainly because I feel like the comics have a very fun and silly sense of video game logic:

Oh, I love webcomics. In fact, I think they're much better then regular comics. I don't read them often, but that's only because they update so slowly. Still, all the interesting stuff is being done online.

I would highly reccomend the following-

Everblue: It reminds me a lot of avatar, the last air bender. The writing is excellent, and the characters are awesome. Gorgeous art. Great if you want a high spirited adventure romp.
http://everblue-comic.com/comic?sort=1

Soul to Call: A post apocalyptic horror comic set in a world where demons have taken over the planet, and humans survive in small colonies. One day a hole opened up in the sky, and demons flooded the earth. Now a fog drifts across the landscape, slowly covering everything. A teenage girl escapes from the safety of the city, going into the forbidden land outside the safety of the walls. She's searching for her father, a scientist, who travelled into the fog and never came back. It's pretty early in the plot, but it shows a lot of promise.
http://soultocall.com/about.php

Ava's Demon: A girl has been haunted by a demon her whole life. She comes to discover that the demon is the ghost of a queen whose planet was invaded by an empire of religious fanatics. Ava is injured early on, and is forced to make a pact with the demon in order to save her life. It works, but now she must begin a quest to destroy the empire once and for all.
http://www.avasdemon.com/

The Meek: A girl is raised in the woods her whole life, raised by the jungle spirits. As the story begins, she starts a journey in search of her grandfather. Along the way she's forced to join forces with a drunken guide. ThInge change, however, when the two of them are caught up in the rising war between two nations.

Necropolis: After her village is destroyed, a young girl makes a pact with the demons of the forest. In return for a mighty magic sword, the poor, ragged girl promises to give "everything" in return. The demons smile, promising that one day they will come back to collect on her promise. With her new sword in hand, she rides out to destroy the bandits who burned her village. She succeeds, and begins amass wealth and fame, but now begins to wonder what the price will be for her actions.
