Well I'm not always on the search for the next big thing. I peruse the coming soon games when I need to. So considering that there's quite a few stuff in the near future, I don't really need to look ahead much. Next year is Mass Effect 3 and (god do I hope) The Last Guardian and maybe Armored Core 5 I think. After that I don't even know what might be coming out, but that doesn't mean I don't expect something will catch my eye.

That... is an interesting endeavor. I've been putting more thought into what I've been buying recently instead of just getting anything I want, but not to that degree. Good luck.

Never felt like I've run out of games to buy. There's still Arkham City, Last Guardian, Xenoblade, Okamiden, Super Mario 3D Land, Skyward Sword, Luigi's Mansion 2, Kid Icarus Uprising, Animal Crossing 3DS... And there will be many more to come.

I've been slowly building up my library of 26 ps3 games since i got it in 2007, and it still grows. I have only been buying the games i wanted most and played others through a friend or something. Because of money I got from a holiday recently, I was able to pre-purchase all 3 2011 games that I want. There are a couple of games in my collection I havent finished but they're not important enough to prevent me from getting new games I want, like ACR. Otherwise I have played and finished all games in my collection of 26 ps3 games (I wont even mention the games on PSP, PSN, and emulated games because that would add up to more than I care to count).

No not really. I've actually had quite a severe gaming drought for a while now. Not to say there's nothing there, just nothing has peaked my interest enough to buy.

That said, October through March has some awesome titles coming out, so its all good.
^This.

A game has to have proven itself to me it is worth $60 before I'll just go out and buy it, I haven't impulse-bought anything besides direct sequels to games I already knew I'd enjoy (Dead Space 2 for example). I'll rent the stuff first, then if it's good I may think about it, but half the time I'll have the game beaten in about 2-5 days anyway.

Mass Effect 3 on the other hand...that doesn't need to prove itself to me at all.

I've haven't bought new games for quite a while; not only because there's barely anything that appeals to me, but also because I think the prices at launch are too high. Instead I'm finishing some games I already have and when prices come down on ones I want, I'll get them then.

This is exactly how I feel. Not even Skyrim interests me much anymore. Every new thing I hear about it disinterests me more and more.
The only promising thing I see in the near future is Torchlight 2. It's very Diablo-y, but it's multiplayer and it's starting price is $20![sub](usd)[/sub]

Recently, I looked at the titles being released, saw Skyrim, Saints Row 3, and Bioshock Infinite, and decided that i want to buy them new. Fuck the recession, fuck my lousy paycheck, by God I was gonna save up and buy them still in the plastic, like back in the day. Hell, I even took some money out of my little cash pool and preordered the fuckers, which gets a little ridiculous in the case of Saints Row 3 because I don't even have online capability for my XBox. But I don't care. I buy used all the time, and this time I want to make sure the guys who made these awesome-looking games actually get something back for me playing them.
