I do. I actually also suffer from OCD (Obsessive Complusive Disorder). And thought it's much more suffocating in real life than it is in video games, it is still a hindrance. Particularly because the time I have for gaming isn't limitless. Maybe after the darn exams are over.

Me:"I have about fifteen minutes left, let's go kill the boss!"
VGOCD:"Wait! Pick up that potion that bandit dropped!"
Me:"What, why? I have nearly half a hundred of them in my inventory!"
VGOCD:"I love potions, just do it!"
Me:"Alright, alright.."

30 seconds hike back to the bandit I slew..

Me:"Happy?"
VGOCD:"Not yet."
Me:"Go- Wait, what?"
VGOCD:"There's a treasure chest right over there! Go get it!"
Me:"There are powerful creatures guarding it, I don't want to waste anymore of my time, potions or mana!"
VGOCD:"Do it."
Me:"Shit."

A minute's walk to the treasure chest, and about another three for slaying the monsters

Me:"Alright, let's go!"
VGOCD:"Wait! The minimap indicates that there is an area that you have yet to explored!"
Me:"Only a tiny little square!"
VGOCD:"We must make the minimap nice and clean, no edges. Do it!"
Me:"ARGH!!"

Was really far away. Took me about another three minutes to get there. I should never have opened that map.

So....
you have voices in your head telling you what to do?

Ever told it to shut up?

As for me, No.
I don't have voices in my head slaving me to do their video game bidding ¬_¬

VGOCD: You got a kill?
Me: Yep!
VGOCD: Reload.
Me: But I used one bullet....
VGOCD: NOW!
Me: Another kill.
VGOCD: Reload.
Me: But there are more enimies!
VGOCD: DO IT!

No you're just weird...

I JEST!

i also suffer from VGOCD at least in the example of making all the map nice and pretty with no unexplored edges.

Not really. That was just an example. Your body tells you to do it, and apparently the only way to stop it is blanking out your thoughts. Or is it the other way around?

I reload A LOT but I don't think that's what you mean
I mean I know what you mean but I think I can restrain myself. Fallout 3 was the game I learned not to grab everything and only take what I need. Like I always grab health power ups, but I do pass on chests if they are to well guarded or I'm low on supplies. And yeah, I'm terrible at forks. I go half way down one, say "this was the right way" then got to hike back and see whatthe other one has

All of what you said is like my entire gaming experience summed up in one post.
It PHYSICALLY PAINS me to not pick up that loot, or to not go explore that teensy corner of the map that is left black.
It is really quite ridiculous.

I wouldn't call it VGOCD (I'm not gonna advocate some made-up disease, mental disorder or pseudo-science), but I feel I have to reload quite often.

I also can't drive a car in GTA if it's crashed or scratched. I just can't.

I know what you mean, I rarely run away from a fight in Final Fantasy or other JRPGs, I try to carry as much loot in Fallout and Oblivion, and I explore every passage in a cave in the off chance of finding the Infinity+1 Sword

To be fair I did mention OCD, which is a legit disorder.

Even if you're running from the law?

That's the only exception. Because everyone knows that a smashed up muscle car escaping from the cops is always awesome.

My VGOCD is clearly a Republican:

Me: "OK, now to start working on a new commercial district."
VGOCD: "You're not really going to leave the land value that low, are you?"
Me: "It's a middle-class neighborhood. No crime, nice school, happy citizens."
VGOCD: "You'd bring in more tax dollars if you upgraded services and placed some decor."
Me: "Middle-class citizens don't need that high a desirability level."
VGOCD: "Fuck the middle class! Everyone needs to be RICH! Then lower taxes so the population goes up and we get MORE rich people!"

Well, if the game has a map that fills in when you explore the space, I have to explore every inch of said space. I just can't continue until I do. Even if it means running across a wide-open area(like Dantooine in KOTOR 1+2).

Like literally, every. single. inch. must be explored.

It speaks to me telling that everyone else in the game is plotting against me...

They think they can beat me and get me when my back is turned.

This chaingun will show them otherwise >:D

My biggest downfalls in gaming right here I cant have a clip with any bullets missing gets me killed in CoD all the time. And in fallout & oblivion I want everything i can carry and more.

EDIT: Oh yea i need to explore every bit of the map ass well.

I'm pretty laid back I guess. I just want to finish the story. All the extra stuff doesn't really worry me. I do like to have the map nice and clean though. All those side missions make it kind of ugly if you ask me.

I wouldn't quite call it "VGOCD" as you so elegantly have, but I do like to roam the lands wondering what delightful goodies I can pilfer off hapless jackasses using little more than a modded sword and my heroic charms. :)

A little voice in my head always says to me "are there any conviniant chest high walls to hide behind" and "baracade that door with s**t" (got to thank HL2 and Ravenholm for that one, bloody scary that was) and "RELOAD" a lot. That's all I get though.

I have fought it and began to win. This occurs occasionally now, where it used to be a much more serious problem, and still the reason I can't quite get racing games down.

I used to be psychotic over where the crosshair in Oblivion was pointing, keeping it along lines, and not letting it sway too much or in a pattern I didn't like. Similarly the inner OCD sufferer in my head berated me for it, so I turned the crosshair off and haven't had any issues like that since. The desire to find a loaf of bread I dropped in the forest has always stayed with me though, however I can't remember which save it was on, where I dropped it, and I'm fairly sure the cell will have reset by now.
