I was just wondering if you ever talk to your pet, other then the usual calling of names and commands. Do you chat with them to get things off your mind?

I don't really chat with my cat very much but I'm not afraid to say things to her, even though she can't understand me.
How about you?

Jupp. I chat with animals all the time. And I am far from the only one where I live... It may have something with the fact that I live in nature-loving Norway though >_> But that means all Norwegians are of the rocker :D YAY, I'M CRAZY!

Of course, my dog will soon be master of the english language and I will finally have someone intelligent to have conversations with/wear my xbox headset and handle the trash-talking.

Yes.
Not anything like talking about my problems with it of course.

Just stuff like "Who's a cute kitty? More food? But I just gave you some."

Sort of in this manner:

I talk to my cat all the time. I have a feeling he understands me, but decides to play the loveable doofus to preemptively get himself off the hook.

Every time my fish harass each other I come in and argue at them to stop it.

Sometimes I will even single one out and shout stuff like "Why are you doing this? Stop harassing them! Don't make me get the net!"

I always say hi to my betta fish, Ezio, when I enter my room. I also talk to him when feeding him.
I'm fairly certain my roommate thinks I'm insane by this point.

Me and my cat have discussions all the time, I talk about things to her, and she answers.
I'm not deluded enough to think she actually understands me(most of the time, she does recognise some words), but she does seem to enjoy the communication and the attention, as do I.

I don't really speak with my other pets, snakes, arachnids and other invertebrates. They don't really, unlike cats, have any biological desire to communicate like that.

I have full on conversations with my dog. The other day he was arguing the reasons why Bathound is useless.

No but my rommate will have overly loving/creepy conversations with random dogs when we go on walks.

Oh whos a good doggie oh who is a good boy! Commence rapid rubbing of the dogs entire body.

I don't get it. Seems strange to me.

Although my dad is the rightful owner of our various birds, I often to yell at them to get them to move out of the way or to go somewhere. I'm sure they don't know what I'm saying, they just don't want to be picked up by anyone.

That makes for a far more interesting person, though! Oh, them Nords; gotta love 'em!

OT: Yeah, I would actually. Though, for example, any time I request a hug from my alsation with open arms, he simply bows his head, "growls" and walks slowly away. Sigh.

I talk to my dog all the time. He's actually a fairly good movie critic. If he doesn't like a film he walks out, and I usually follow soon after.
