Do you target big ones or little ones first?

Little ones, nothing sucks worse then taking out the huge on to be killed by his minions. Also I like space to work in normally and that spaces is better acquired through killing little ones (this is for games Like DMC 4 normally). For FPS its easier to kill the little ones without focusing too hard, compared to larger ones which take more shots and skill to bring down normally

Well it depends on the game evidentally and what situation of health/ammo etc. you are in.

Against a boss I would go for the smaller things (normally) so that i can run rings round the big things whilst dipatching the little things so they dont bother me when i need to concentrate on the big thing.

If it's a situation like (and i know this isn't a shotter but you know what im getting at) lord of the rings where theres lots of orcs and an ogre somewhere, ill either try and stay away from the ogre (which isnt going to happen) or take it out first as it does the most dammage.

In Halo 3 I would always take out the little things first as they run up and kill you when your looking the other way at the big things (brutes) which soak up most of your ammo, whereas te little things die in a ouple of seconds leaving you to carry on anhialting the bigger fish.

so as I said, depends on the game and your situation.

I go how my mood is. If I'm feeling rather extravagantly aggressive, I kill the small ones first, otherwise I go for the large one.

It depends. If the little ones are little like headcrabs, I go for them first because swarms are annoying. Otherwise, I tend to take out the big one and take out the little ones in between.

it depends on the enemies strength. I'd prefer to take down all the weaker ones, so I can focus on the stronger. If I were to relate this to size, I go for smaller enemies, and then bigger. That or I go for which ever is closer, i dont really know.

if its a game that let me choose my own play style i always go for the sniper rifle, and it wouldn't make much sense to reveal my position to take out just a random small enemy, no sir, us snipers go for the big hairy enemy's drooling blood.

but in most games they wont allow me to choose and just dump me right in a battle field wielding a machine gun, and then i go for the smaller ones first, as my strategy is running away from the enemy to hide behind rocks while i regenerate life, and its easyer to run away from 6 big guys than it is from say, 456 small guys.

Usually I go for maximal threat-reduction. If they're all equally dangerous but some are tougher than others, I thin out their numbers quickly by knocking off the easy kills at the start. If they're all equally tough but some are very dangerous, I hit the dangerous ones first. If it's a case of hammering on one boss for a few minutes to get it down, it depends whether my back-up can afford to ignore the boss's back-up. If not, I clean around the job first. If they can, I go for the big kill. It's a bit like low branches on a tree you're felling. You can get them before or after you drop it, depending on whether they're in your way.
This. Always attempt to reduce the threat to yourself to the greatest degree possible. You can't win if you're dead.

I tend to go for the big-ass ones first. I have this uncomfortable feeling that zeroing in on the little ones all the time would make me some sort of virtual alien pedophile.

Depends on whether the little ones can be ignored.

If they're like those soldiers from Prototype, yeah, I'll be ignoring them unless they got explosives. But if it's ,say, one of those bats in Zelda, ignoring them won't do you any good.

I go for the small ones using the weakest weapon at my disposal. The big ones are usually slower for blance puporses, so as long as you keep an eye on them, you should be fine. I go for the stronger ones first if killing them has an effect on the weaker ones, as in halo. I also go for them if they can do something to allow lots of little ones a shot. See Left 4 Dead.

A lot of the time i dont bother picking, just try and mow them down.

Large dudes, killing them usually leads to a "mission success," and it's usually pretty easy outrun the weaker dudes.

I usually begin a fight like that with random shooting with my biggest gun, and then finishing off the one(s) with the most damage.
If no one is the most damaged i just go for the one ugliest one.

Small ones first, unless its the type of big enemy that continually spawns little ones.

This is always my strategy.
Yeah I hate it when you're just about to finish a big'un off then a tiny enemy kills you with the weakest gun/weapon in the game

In games, the big ones.
When I eat something, I always eat the best thing the last.

I take out the smaller guys so that there are fewer enemies to worry about faster, and then i can concentrate on bigger enemies
