This is something that has been bothering me and my perverted female friends for a while.
Theres no equality in fanservice at all, and we thought of a good way to get the point across in this industry would be to make a Suda51 style 'Parody'slash'Satire' game of fanservice, which The main character is a skinny young Man who is constantly in skimpy outfits and having really off-putting shots of his crotch, who has male friends who are also sexualized a lot which would be the several stereotypes of men and the only Female characters in the game would be Regular well developed characters A la April Ryan, with gameplay akin to Bayonetta just to push the knife further in.
But then we thought that this wouldn't sell at all, which makes sense.
What do you guys think? Would you want this? would you play this?

Edit: I fixed something i REALLY didn't want to say.
Just to be clear, I AM NOT A SHOTACON.
Yes.
Just look at manga. :|
Or Twilight.
Or romance novels I guess.

Society may not have caught up with it yet but psychologically and biologically, it should sell, just wait for it to be socially more acceptable. Actually, since you're part of society, you can start shit... Like posting here, like what you're doing now. Or, other things. It's part of your society, go push it! =D

As a female gamer I find almost all men are sexualised in video games, just not in the way I would find them attractive. The industry leans toward muscular tough guys.

This is not what I look for in a man and I beleive they are based on what developers and other males believe male sexiness is like. Most women would not put physical attractiveness as the sole factor on what makes a man sexy.

A perfect example of a sexualised male, for me at least, is Alistair from Dragon Age 1.
The combination of his shyness, good looks, awkward humor and charm combined to create the 'perfect' male character for me, and was pretty much the only reason I continued with dragon age.

JRPG's are really the only games that take into account these factors but even then I find most to be lacking in something, mainly humor.

The problem for this seems to be that many games lack the depth of character and creative story writing that can bring a male character to life in a way that fully appeals to women.

SO putting male characters in skimpy outfits would not appeal to me and honestly I wouldn't view it as a game aimed at satisfying women. It might sell well, but to me the male still would not be sexualised FOR women :|

The masculinity in western video games is already sexualised.

Basically the same deal...
I don't agree it's quiet the same. Heterosexual men and women are attracted to different things. I don't know many women who find men in feminine poses attractive. And while many women like a man's butt I don't think we have the same preferences to how that part of the body is emphasized.
Exactly that picture is what we in the biz call...

FALSE EQUIVALENCE! ie not the same. what women find sexy is clearly on the poster as well as what men find sexy.(straight or otherwise) everyone sexualizes just differently.

that comparison was created to push a certain philosophy/agenda.
Nobody on that side of the fence wants to acknowledge that there is an important underlying biological imperative to the male obsession with the three B's, or the breasts, buttocks and belly of a woman. Neither do they wish to admit that the very different roles that men and women play in human reproduction will naturally lead to different things being valued in a potential mate by each sex.

Although I'm not exactly sure why the person who drew the comic gave Scarlet Johansson's ass to the male Avengers. They might just have a fetish for men with female hips.

TL:DR; The fact is beefcake is never presented in quite the same manner as cheesecake. Get over it.

As for the whole generalisation, of course theres SOME "homophobic kids" in gaming, that goes without saying, but its definitivly not EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM as the posters I quoted apparently makes it out to be.
Actually, my statement did not speak to every single one of them. I'm sorry if this confuses you, but it's a basic tenet of the English language and I am not responsible for anything you infer.

Never heard of James Bond, eh?
I don't know. That seems more like a power fantasy to me. Like, the ultimate power fantasy.

OT: I guess it depends on whether the game itself is any good. Do that and some clever marketing and I reckon it could be a hit.
