do you think final fantasy VII (7) should be remastered for the play station 3 and 360.

NO

please dear god LET THAT GAME BE FORGOTTEN

I mean gee, why cant they make NEW games instead of remaking old ones!?!?!?

the history is the same! why would you play a game (which his main feature is history) remastered? just for the graphics!?!? I would rather keep playing it in the way i remember it, because being a remake doesn´t mean it will still be good.

The main point of the remastering would be to let some new people get the chance to play what, I would say, is agreed to be one fo the best PS1 games and older games...

I think most developers would probably consider remaking a game to be a huge waste of time and creativity (in having to update all the art styles). While fans may appreciate it, just think of how boring it would be to be the people updating the game itself?

i just posted this forum to get some feed back my my idea. i have final fantasy 7 for PS1 and i love it i think the story is grate the charters are cool and the game is just a good game to play. but i think that if they re-made with the exact same game play same story down right down dialogue, but add in PS3 and xbox 360 graphics and some voice acting. i think it would rejuvenate the game and with all the other spin offs as well like the film and the vincent valentine game i think it would be the right move and a good time to do it as well.
they should only do it if they do NOT change the gameplay or the storyline, only the graphics!!! :D dont want them to ruin it now do we

Am I the only person who liked DoC?
Granted, it was my first 'shooter' I think.

Anyway.
It's never going to happen. Don't cry, it's embarrassing.

No. Remake/master FFVI instead, as it's a superior game.

VII was good, don't get me wrong, but it's chronically overrated. (new graphics era, lots of players' first RPG exposure, big swords, FMV, etc)

Definately not. Frankly I don't trust the modern Square-Enix with my treasured memories. They'd only give Cloud a black costume have him be way more brooding and angsty than in the original script and they'd probably butcher the materia system.

No, we all know how the damn story ended. We remember the characters, those were some great memories, AT IT'S TIME. I've had enough with VII, DoC blew, Advent Children Complete was awesome, VII the PS1 game I can't even bare to play anymore. Enough is enough already. If you want to remake a Final Fantasy, remake the ones most of the damn population hasn't played. Like VI, V, or I and II for next-gen consoles instead of portable platforms. (VI, IX, ftw.)

/thread.
First off, /thread is right.

IX was the best one ever, no doubt about it. VII hasn't much to do after the end, I didn't even bother with VIII, and IX was a good throwback to the classics, i.e. I-VI. Its based on an extremely heavy fantasy setting. I loved the game heart and soul because it... Well, it had heart and soul. Zidane was memorable because despite his shortcomings in a few places we could still call him a monkey because of that tail. A good, un-melodramatic story with only slight love interest and you have one of the best FF stories ever.

No, FF VII doesn't need a remake, it needs to be laid down to rest forever. I'm still pissed that they took the game and made a franchise for it, most of which sucks (Advent Children being an exception). FF VII is over, it's time to move on to bigger and better things.

Don't get me wrong, I loved FF VII, but I'd rather the money used to remake it go into something new (hint hint Square...). If you love the original, then just play instead. I played through it last year, and the ugly graphics or dated combat didn't bother me a bit.

I dunno, FFIX would have been A LOT better if it had kept the tone of the first disc through the whole game. Once it descended into the craziness with Garland the plot kinda jumped the shark. However if you just play the game until Garland's attack on Alexandria it's an AMAZING piece of work.

I am too in love with Crisis Core's handling of the Materia system to think of an FFVII remake sticking to the old way of things.

huh, it seems cool to bash popular games now.. I think a re-make of one of the most intricatly designed games of all time would be great - especially with the voice acting from advent children.

Okay, you got me there; the first disc made the damn game for me. Garland was a little weird, but the combat didn't change so one plus; it was nicely balanced, and I felt that the story besides that GLARING flaw, no matter how big, was great.
