Do you think high school never ends?

Hmmm. Is it just my high school or are there not cliques anywhere anymore? I've had a pretty normal education, never gotten in a fight, never been bullied or harassed because I was dating someone's ex-girlfriend. . .

So High school, for me, will probably never end. Because it's kind of like how actual people behave in the actual world around here.

However, I disagree with Jack Black being the class clown. That would require him being truly funny.

Yeah, I think it does. All the uncool kids go to university and get great jobs; the idiots work in McD's and you get to laugh at all the twats who picked on you, because you've gone to a high class uni and they're stuck at the University of Rochdale (if that).

You have better luck with girls too. Because you meet more people, you're more likelyto meet someone who likes you. Makes sense.
If it makes you feel better to believe that myth, good for you. Because reality is harsher than you believe, and most nerd losers in high school, remain losers in the rest of their lives, good job or not.

High School definitely ended for me.

In High School I was a a self-conscious loner who rarely spoke or spent time with my fellow students.

Now I'm a happy, self-confident fella who loves talking with people and doing crazy activities in public.

High School ends when you let it end. I let mine end the first day of University. Never looked back.

Ahh, but rich nerd losers.

Besides, I have actually been served in a McDonalds by someone I knew (who was a ****) in Sixth Form. It was a nice feeling, but it doesn't say much, because all 19 year olds do that kind of work. It's knowing that that's all they're doing that counts.

That's not always true. =P I was one of the "uncool kids" and got bullied for wearing glasses and being a "boffin". I left high school around 2 years ago and I've been unemployed ever since >_> College was a huge fail.

OT: I think High School does end, but sometimes the feelings you had in High School can come creeping back D:

High School does end, and the most shining example is that no matter which high school you went to, which clique you belonged in, or how popular you were; That all means nothing in college. And you also realize that none of that matters, it really doesn't.

Literally; no. Metaphorically, it's backwards to assume that high school continues into the outside world, the truth is that high school is a condensed, exaggerated form of the outside world.

Well that's essentially what I was going to post. The "culture" of high school doesn't end (or it at least seems to not end) because the culture outside isn't all that different when you get down to it. Although its more the fact that the real world culture is reflected into high school, not the other way around.

American "high school" sounds like fucking bollocks with literally nobody talking to each other unless they conform to each others standards.
English "secondary school" is a lot more tolerable. Sure there's different groups and shit and not everyone is best friends but there's that ease of being able to communicate with someone else regardless of your persona, you could have polar opposite people working together or something. Except for the uber cunts who think they're top of the world because they go to clubs underaged and have all the chicks, although i think that's a universal thing.

it never does really the same concepts are still in play. look at womens magazines they are just basically high school gossip whos fucking, who whos let themselves go, weird stories, funny stories, tragic stories etc the list goes on.
Maybe because women are wired to thrive on emotional cues and social dynamics (who's who, who's hot, who's not, etc). And it's not a bad thing at all. Gossiping brings people closer together and helps build up one's social network. Women have a distinct advantage in building networks for support compared to men, who often rely on their few friends and their own capabilities and self-worth to weed through social situations. Unless they are dominant males in leadership position, which means more friends and thus more resources.

It's not a merely a high school thing. It's just part of women's instincts, it's part of who they are, just like testosterone is part of who we are. Doesn't mean we are all cookie-cutted replicas of each other, and it certainly doesn't mean they are all queenbee wannabees who want to return to their high school days, just like not all us men want to date a Penthouse Pet and return to the school reunion with the Prom Queen.

Yes, high school ends. Roughly the same time you leave and go to college and/or university.

Well, that was easy!

I'm just not there anymore.
Word, yo.

Highschool is a lot like a part time prison - a population of emotionally unstable and immature idiots and jerks forming little gangs and coteries with internal and external pecking orders in the general population under the arbitrary, apathetic rule of an authority capable of exercising draconian authority to disrupt and harass a sense of discipline, while remaining unable to protect it's occupants or REALLY police their activities.

That said, once you've done your time, the world outside is completely different. If you still see high school around you when you're out of it, it probably reflects more on your own experience than the actual state of affairs at large.

High School does end. There are people who stay in the mindset. Unfortunately for them, the world does not care if it is High School or not. Once you're put into the world of work and actually given responsibility, that mindset leaves pretty fuckin' quick. No more of this "woe is me, my life is sad" bullshit. No one cares. Get out of the way.

Yep. America is essentially like this. Sure, there's some cross-tolerance, but not on a scale of which will mark any significance and impact the larger picture.

I'm in college now, and it is different in ways and similar in others.

I found that the people in my secondary school (high school, basically) who were considered the populars due to the fact that they made everyone else seem insignificant are still in a tightly bunched group, but haven't branched out and made new friends, so they aren't really populars any more. The nerds are still nerds, though, but they make more friends.

I'm glad i didnt go to high school in America. if it's anything like your media portrays it, then it seems like total shite.

Not that UK highschool is great, but at least it seems preferable to US highschool.

But yeah, that kinda thing does end (or it has for me at least) Sure you still have 'cliques' in life, but most people generally live and let live.

Life= tons of bullshit and people that piss you off

So yes, in theory, high school never ends.
