There is not enough information to claim one way or another but i noticed a trend that when developers claim this it usually means they are going to release a bland average game and want hype marketing instead.

It's not the Prey I like.

Also, it is wayyy to early to tell, so hold your horses. Quite the hyperbole once again.

Is their any confirmed info on this game or is it still just speculation at this point?
We've got something something better then info or speculation. We have divining rods!

Not only can we use these to confidently rate video games that haven't even been made yet, but we can also talk to the dead and find water sources!

Who needs facts or evidence?

"Milestones" are decided in hindsight, after you can actually see how they've influenced and affected the medium they're in.

So my dear friends. the new PREY coming next year and has potential to be one hell of the game if they done right. Hated prey 2 version that was cancelled but new prey won me over. planetscape tourment writer is working on this game too so expect amazing story too. the game being inspired by system shock is huge plus for me. Im not really impressed by dishonored 2 much but for prey, Arkane has NAILED it.

after Deus Ex, System shock, Stalker. do you think this game will follow the footstep of these games?

Well my friends, I'm really intrigued by the set up for Prey 2 we've glimpsed. I'm sold on the idea presented and the names attached to the project are one's I've had good experiences with. I really hope they deliver on what I'm inferring they hinted at.

I'm anticipating this game coming to be one of, what I consider, to be the greats, and await with baited breath on more information as we go forward.

I'd love to hear what you all took away from the E3 presentation, my friends. What captured your attention? What do you think of this undertaking? Are you eagerly watching for more information, or not yet sold?

I want Prey 2 to actually continue Prey 1's story...cause otherwise the IP is pointless.
God, I wish we'd be able to buy the original Prey on Steam, GOG or anywhere, really. It was a new IP, it was well made, most of the surprises big and small were pretty awesome - it's a shame the game just about disappeared off the face of the planet.

I'm quite worried this "new" Prey 2 will be little more than a Deus Ex / Syndicate / xyz reskin job. I'm always ready to be pleasantly surprised, but - alas - right now, I wouldn't want to bet a shilling on Prey 2 being good or doing the original any justice.

Huh...so it isn't. On my original Xbox Live account I actually managed to get all 1000 Gamerscore. Getting the multiplayer ones were a ***** due to how sparse it was, but I managed to do it legitimately.

Maybe they will release it on PC or something when Prey "2" comes out... though it apparently being a reboot might dissuade them from reminding people of the first's plot.

Prey 1 was dark though. Ive seen a lot of disturbing shit in gaming...but Prey 1 still ranks as #1. (The ghost girl's intro, though what happens to your girlfriend...yeesh)

I got Prey for pc when it first came out, played it again few months ago so it still works though I hadn't upgraded to Win10 then.

Physical copy? I only got into PC gaming because of Steam, outside a few games I bought on a road trip. While I prefer physical for consoles, I'm basically pure digital on PC, and I couldn't find Prey 1 on Steam or GoG.

Yeah physical copy I'm afraid. My current PC doesn't seem to like CDs as it sounds like a plane taking off whenever I put one in, which these days is thankfully rare due to Steam & GOG, but Prey is one of the times I made the effort to put up with it.

@B-Cell talk is ch.eap. Show me actually gameplay that's more than 30min long. Then I might feel something for this game

Also what was wrong with the original prey 2?

I'm still bitter about Prey 2 being cancelled. The very premise of an abducted human adapting to an alien city as a bounty hunter caught my eye, and the gameplay looked engaging in its own right.

As for the new version, I'm not sure what to make of it. All we have to go by is a "Groundhog Day" trailer.

Highly improbable when you read up on the story behind the scenes - I don't think Bethesda will do anything with the original Prey beyond willfully letting it rot in the basement until the kids of our kids will only know Prey (2017), Ghostbusters (2016) and RoboCop (2014) as great original classics.

I did find a valid Prey key that we activated on Steam just yesterday, though. Took quite some google-fu, though.

I got into a bit of a drunken argument about the quality and general bland sameness of current gaming titles (that goes well beyond the lamentable Brownness of Yore) with a family member, so much that I logged into Steam with my account on his machine, installed Prey, had him play it for half an hour or so, which easily turned into two hours of pure gaming bliss and a web search assisted blast from the past.

That said, do leave your credit cards at home when you know full well that you'll end up shitfaced, as I seem to have ordered half a dozen old video game boxes that might or might not work beyond looking good as conversation pieces on the coffee table... right next to the ever-growing, all-seeing pile of... stuff.
