I played for about 15 minutes at an EBgames store, got up to Seth with Sagat but got smashed pretty damn hard I ended up giving up. He sure is tricky!

I've been hearing for a while on these boards that 'games are too easy nowadays', so now that a game is posing a challenge for decent gamers, I am pleased.
Wow, that sounds really off.
It's better than easier?
Sorta better...

How to beat the game: Play as lame as you can(check zangief video)
will will play lame?
Zangief is a is a pretty good character, if you can work out how to play him. My bro has recently adopted Zangief as his character of choice, previously he was a Ken player. From what I've seen he chains the hold moves after some other moves, because if you try the 360 rotations on their own, you end up jumping unless you're very quick. I don't know if they've made it easier to do in SF4 -- he seems to think so.
And he beat Seth on medium first time (AMAZING although it went to 3 rounds) so it can be done. I had to applaud.
side note*
(in the zangief video, he finishes the hardest mode using 1 bumper button trough out the game)

Yes, i also found that it is fun to play single player whit some friends, its just cool to see them / me try and beat the game on normal
and once a enemy starts charging his super whit your characters face going " ow shit", and every one knowing your going to die before it even hits... its just epic
Hahha yeah I love that face... oh noes!

I hate street fighter 4.
I kept goin back to it to try and have fun, but I just don't enjoy it.
I found they made it almost too easy to pull of moves and combos, but with that said they increased the difficulty to a very cheesy level.
After a few matches I feel bored and frustrated and feel that its not worth my time anymore.
So after a few days I figured I'd try unlocking some characters, picked C.viper and started playing on the easiest difficulty.
I flew through all the way to Seth, kicked his ass the first round and was feeling like it was gonna be an easy fight.
WELLLLLLL second and third round not so lucky, he totally killed me with perfect rounds.
After a few trys I was gonna throw the disc out the window, till I found out all you have to do is spam one move.
Seriously.... the weak electric thrust punch move that C.Viper has will kill Seth with ease if that is ALL you do.

After unlocking Cammy, I took the Cd out of my X-Box put it gently in its case, then chucked this broken-cheezy-J-pop game over my shoulder, forever to be lost under some couch or get eaten by rats or something

Damnit to Hades.
After months of complaining about the lack of games coming out.
I now have to find the funds for SF4, Killzone 2 and Red Alert 3.

But I played this at Game and pwned one of the staff, single player seems challenging on medium but nothing too bad.

I have never been so close to throwing my controller across the room on any game as I am when I fight Seth. No matter what I do he will counter with his Shoryuken attack or the throw where he throws you into the air and slams you into the ground. EVERY time. I'm not bad at video games, not by a long shot. Seth is simply infuriating, not difficult in a fun "Oh this is a challenge" sort of way, difficult in a "This is one of the cheapest pieces of shit I've ever had to fight" sort of way.

The more i play it, its not that bad actually. Spastic as hell at first. Took a while to grind the SF rust off and get back to the timing. My fighting fingers had way to many tekken hours on them. But yea. Still cheap. Their are some random ass diffuclty curve spikes that can be really frustrating sometimes. Nothing wrong with a bit of a challenge tho.

Seth is staggeringly harder than any online match I've had.
That is all.

I think it depends on what character you are playing as to how diffcult Seth can be. I beat him first time with no problems playing as M.Bison, but when I tried with Abel it took me about 15 attempts :( That was not fun.

The only difficult things about SF4 are the trials, the later Survival/Time Trial levels, Unlocking Gouken, and sometimes Seth (even on the easier difficulty settings)

I find arcade quite easy, depending on what character I'm using, some characters I can die easily with since I'm not very good with them.
Usually when I get to Seth I die at few times, even with my better characters; but I was able to defeat Seth on Hardest with Zangeif, who is one of my mains.

I think the trials are pretty difficult, the one with the combos, I can only ever seem to do the first two trials with most characters and then it gets too hard, maybe it's because I'm not using a arcade stick perhaps?

Seth is indeed super-cheap. He basically has the cheapest moves of all the other characters, which reminds me a bit of the Eternal Champion from Eternal Champions [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_Champions], if anyone remembers that game.

Anyway. Winning the first round is always pretty easy, then in 2&3 he turns on the cheese. Warp, warp, throw. warp, unblockable, warp, ultra, repeat until death. I've beaten him on medium and medium-hard, but no higher.

It wouldn't necessarily bother me, but Gouken is such an uber-badass that I want to unlock him :(

Eternal Champions, thank you! I've been trying to remember the name of this game for ages.

Is it too hard? No.

Just keep in mind that Capcom has never been able to give us a reasonable AI with any of the Street Fighter games and they really have no interest in even trying to do so. These games are intended to milk money out of us in the arcades after all.

Seth's AI is simple and not dissimilar to Ryu's from Super Street Fighter. At a distance he spams with projectiles and if you jump to approach and he dragon punches (sound familiar). He will automatically block almost anything you throw at him and his counters always have priority of yours, even if you fight him with himself. And if for some reason you do manage to whittle him down to 50% health, he will teleport and throw repeatedly until you are dead (ps. this is a special throw that you cannot tech out of).

Also remember that this version of Street Fighter, Capcom has, in another failed attempt to "balance" the characters, completely gimped the top tier fighters making old staples such as Guile, Ken, and Chun Li grossly underpowered. Zangief is easily one of the best characters in the game now, even having throw priority over Chun Li and I have and easier time beating Seth with Dan than with Guile as his lame little dragon punch is a better air counter than the flash kick now.

Honestly the only thing that makes this game truly aggravating is that the AI is programmed to perform moves in ways that are simply not possible for a human being (charge move in particular) and that is ultimately where Capcom has failed in every Street Fighter game. The whole point of having and AI is to simulate a human opponent after all. Otherwise they should just change the name of the game from "Street Fighter" to "BANG, You're Dead"

God, beating Seth 3 times on arcade (easiest) is hard, he keeps teleporting into my face when im in a focus attack and he'd zangief me.

i actually managed to beat him on medium by making it a 30 second round. I would then damage him a bit then run back so he would try throw sonic booms at me. I would dodge them and wait for a time out

Seth is quite easy if you make use of the exploit he has. Keep in mind that Seth isnt a human, and that hes programmed to literally break any combos that normally cant ever be broken. If you jump towards, do a heavy kick, then jump back, he wont have time to do anything. Hes also a retard for blocking ultras. I can beat it on hardest with most characters using that formula. Otherwise, i dont stand a chance.
